473 ml can at Joey's Winnipeg. Pours a clear, dark, amber with a mid-size mocha head. Aromas are subtle (served fairly cold) but perhaps some coffee. Tastes are light, dry chocolate and some roasty malt. Fairly thin, mildly carbonated, chalky, with a short and dry finish. Pleasant but not exciting.

Draft at the northern ontario microbrew festival.
Very dark amber, pretty much brown pour, with a small off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, also quite nutty with some toasted caramels too. Nice mouth feel, and carb. Nutty finish, with some semi sweet caramel malts, and subtle bitterness with no hops. Leaning more towards a brown ale, than an amber. Growler, fresh from the brewery. Nice clear, dark amber pour with a beige head. Light roasty malt aroma, flavours of chocolate, light fruitiness and hops, and a touch of coffee. A bit thin, but tasty and the best I've had from Lake of the Woods so far. dreamflower (790) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - AUG 31, 2013
On tap at the brewpub. It could be that they poured in poorly because there was no head. Anyway, it was a beautiful amber colour. Tasted notes of coffee and chocolate. The best nut brown ale I’ve had. northropfrye (3625) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - AUG 31, 2013
The best by this brewer. Dark ruby. Roasty aroma. Taste is quite nice toasty chocolate and a touch of coffee.

Pours a nice dark Amber. Aromas of cherry and sweet malt. Similar flavours follow with a pleasing hoppiness. Decent. piscator34 (2534) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - AUG 20, 2013
Draft sample at the brewpub. Light amber/brown in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Grainy aroma, with hints of nougat and cocoa powder. Flavour is a simple blend of 2-row and chocolate malt, with a bit of a toffee note on the back end. Watery bodied, with a clean finish. Simple and a bit on the bland side.
