Depp garnet as promised. Definitely full of woodsy dark fruits and full malt. Very English, feels very ild world, stiff upper lip, medicine cabinet. Has the strong ale character on the tongue. Quite good in its own right. knock ya on the keel o yer boat if you spend a night with this one, it will. Beerathon (1683) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 5, 2012
Deep brown color with slightly tannish head with some lacing. Not much to the aroma. Nice malt backbone with some slight hops. Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 27, 2012
Bottle from Marsonthemoon. Dark brown, really nice and deep. Scattered lacing. The aroma is big on spicy dark malts, alcohol late and mainly as it warms. The flavors are pumpernickel crust. Surprisingly dry for such a malt-heavy beer, and the illusion of nutmeg makes it seem as astringent and tannic as it does. Soft palate and generally well-constructed. A "mild" younger sister for Ubu would be wonderful. Oakes (18472) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 27, 2012
Dark brown and a little bit muddy. There is only a thin wisp of head. The aroma is malty with some dark fruit accents mimicking English yeast, Fuller’s wouldn’t actually surprise me at all. There are caramel notes in the malt, balanced by light plums and dark fruit. The sweetness is balanced slightly by the high alcohol and a lightly chocolatey character. Good ale when I had it years ago, and now it tastes a little old school but still good ale. Voodoo (694) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 26, 2012
Pours a deep brown with a nice dense head. Quite flavorful with a touch of raisins, toffee and a light bittering. Admittedly smooth and almost crisp, not the norm for an English Strong. Nicely put together.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with half inch cream head. Aroma is toasted malt and toffee. Flavor is dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate. Very solid. BillKismet (4103) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 19, 2012
Thick mahogany body with a thin toasted caramel colored head. Nut caramel and toffee malting oozes off the body, soon leading to flavors of sharp brown malt, caramel nut, and some alcohol. 60minuteman (1765) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 9, 2012
Pours a root beer brown. Aroma mostly malt, some bread, a bit sweet. Taste is vanilla and cream. Some toffee as well. Good finish...some hops and light bitterness. cubs (10693) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 6, 2012
Bottle in hotel room, Ithaca. Clear, deep brown appearance with a light brown head. Toasty, caramel malty, somewhat nutty aroma. A touch fruity (apple, pear), burnt toffee, caramel malty flavor. Not bad. cbooth (12) - Great Barrington, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 3, 2012
