Really nice, but nothing like an English strong. More like a great Flemish sour. Sweet fruits (strawberries, maybe), dark malts, and sour, sour, sour finish, with a nice touch of hops. I wonder if the sourness is a result of a quality control problem, or a brilliant idea? Still, worked out well. Slightly hazy, dark reddish brown, small head, good lacing. Looks and smells more like a Flemish sour than an English or British beer too.

This is a beer with a great aroma and a wonderful finish. Pours nicely with a great looking head. A roasted, maybe somewhat chocolate flavor with a little bit of hops at the end.

Poured from a 12oz bottle a clear brown with a small tan head. Aroma was roasted malts, some caramel, and just a hint of hops. Flavor was a good roasted malt with a light hop bitterness in the finish.

12 oz bottle. Clear, dark brown with a thin light beige head. Nice, strong nose, nutty chocolate, a bit smoky. Roasty malt flavor, caramel notes, hints of smoke and something like scotch. Nice balanced finish, mild floral bitter. Good brew!

Bottle: Courtesy of rudolf via Secret Santa. Aromas of nuts, chocolate, some mustiness, light grass, and a hint of fruit. Pours a hazy brownish-red with a small off-white head with fair retetntion. Starts of with moderate chocolate and caramel, but quickly turns to sour fruitiness in the finish. I doubt the sourness was intended, but I actually kind of like it. Hints of nuttiness in the finish behind all the sourness. If it wasn’t for the nuttiness in the finish, it would somewhat be like a flemish sour. I’m sure this is a "bad" bottle, but I think the sourness probably makes the beer better in my opinion.

Clear brown with a small white head. Nose is earthy, tobacco and horse. Taste is very malty that’s, sweet, woody, maybe a bit nutty and also… well… “hairy”!?! Something about the taste reminded me of wet fur or something of that nature. Decent beer but I like my beer like I like my women, not too hairy.

Bottle. Gorgeous hazy dark brown body with reddish glints, low carbonation, and a thick, lasting beige creamy head. Wonderful and complex malty aroma with various hints of hops, plum, chocolate and brown sugar. Nice, sharp, and well balanced hoppy taste that hides the alcohol pretty well. It leaves a good bitter/roasty aftertaste. This is a superb Strong Ale!
