Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours very dark brown with a slight light tan head. I can get garnet, if I hold it against a strong light. Smells a little bit of wet dog (not kidding) and raisiny dark fruit. 2nd inhale elimd the dog. 3rd inhale suggests chocolate. Full bodied. Dark roast malt, and some chocolate/raisin. This one’s good for watchin a movie. It’s fairly well balanced, but tilting towards bitter. Nice ale. Been hoping for this one for several years. Bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of toasted malt, cocoa,earthiness and coffee. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a smooth finish. Bottle. Beer of the month club. Very dark brown color with a medium beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, some toastiness, fruits, chocolaty and nutty notes and a bit of hops and alcohol. Sweet malty flavor with caramel, nuts and fruits. Finishes with bitter and slightly spicy hops and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied with a somewhat thick and rounded feel. Bottle. Pours a clear amber with small frothy off white head. The aroma is caramel malt and dark fruits . Thin mouth with sweet malt, dark chocolate, roast, very good.

Thought I had already rated this. 12 ounce bottle from State Line Liquors. Pours a dark copper color with a medium frothy tan head. Good head retention and decent lacing. Aroma of toffee, citrus and nutty notes. The taste is toffee, earthy notes, chocolate and a bitter almost metallic finish. Medium bodied. Good beer.
