Pours deep brown with a fine white head. Aroma is caramel like with an oddly vegetable and hoppy flavor. Almost salty. Crazy. doublebock (558) - California, USA - JAN 4, 2007
Deep amber/Maroon appearance. Very little head and carbonation. Initial taste pleasant and heavy maltiness and then an almost Belgian Gueze like sourness emerges. Extremely unique and wonderful taste. ElJefe (553) - Rochester, New York, USA - APR 8, 2005
Reddish brown with a tan head. Roasted malt aroma, maybe a touch of cocoa. Flavor is full of roasted malts and nuts, with mild bitterness. Nice smooth texture. MrRain (542) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 7, 2008
12oz bottle poured int a Trappist glass. LPUA pours surprisingly dark. It is deep mahogany with pulp. The head is thin and soapy looking with large bubbles. The aroma consists of toffee, malt and a faint touch of fruity sweetness. The body on this beer is another surprise. It’s heavy, falling just under a porter. It is very smooth with a small carbonation bite at the end. The flavor is malty and reminiscent of flat cola... but not in a bad way... if that makes any sense. bobaidan (530) - Southington, Connecticut, USA - FEB 22, 2012
What a pleasant surprise. Asia is cherry, oak and some sweetness. A but thick in body, but with enough carbonation to offset. Flavor reminds me a lot of a Belgian dubbel. I liked this a lot.

12oz. bottle from sixer. I can’t believe I haven’t rated any Lake Placid beers! Pours a deep cloudy reddish brown body with a big beige head. Good lacing. Weaker aroma of spice, caramel malt, sugar and some light hoppy scents. Flavor is also caramel maltiness, spice. Medium bodied. Smooth easy drinking. This could be a really great beer if it had some bolder outstanding flavors. Otherwise a good beer from NY. Jrwhitney6 (504) - - FEB 23, 2013
Pours brown with very slight head. Not much of a nose, but what there is consists of a nutty malt aroma. The nose carrier over to the taste - nutty, caramel malt present, with some bitterness on the finish. Pretty good.

Beauty of a pour into a regular pint glass, with a light tan head standing up a bit over the top of the glass. Color is deep brown, almost black. Aroma is roasty, malty, with notes even bordering on rich, roasted meat dishes. Flavor is pretty complex, ranging from burnt toast to alcohol to dry malt to dark fruits. Finish is pretty long. Palate is medium to sticky-thick. Good beer; would love to pair with a hearty beef stew or meat and potatoes type dish. climberbob (497) - Virginia, USA - SEP 1, 2013
Bottle. Dark ruddy brown thin head. Malty but a bit too bitter for my taste. Some bready and caramel notes. Ok but not amazing.
