Bottle. Wow. Excellent. Pours a dark brown. Modest head. Nice roasted aroma. Complex palate. Nutty, hoppy. Long delicious finish. Highly recommended.

Pours to a very dark brown color and has an extremley hoppy smell. Poured to a medium brownish head and stayed for the entire driniking of the beer. A very smooth taste when first drinking but the aftertatse is of extreme bitterness. It was fairly heavy but very drinkable. I enjoyed it thouroughly. truegen (167) - Puyallup, Washington, USA - MAR 25, 2008
12 oz. bottle from a beer club. Deep red/brown with some opacity. Smallish head leaves minimal lacing. Mostly malts on the nose with some earthiness in there. This tastes like an amped up nut brown ale. It reminded me of Samuel Smiths nut brown, which I once enjoyed frequently, but can’t seem to find anymore. This one is pretty decent. posikyle (165) - Alabama, USA - MAR 22, 2008
Probably one of my favorite beers. Pours a deep brown/red color, head dissipates rather quickly. Big malt aroma/flavor with a hint of caramel and a nicely balanced hoppy finish. Very smooth, easily drinkable. Prcaus (159) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 28, 2007

This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again. Discofish (152) - USA - SEP 18, 2003
This beer goes down pretty smooth at 7% ABV. It has a good blend of malt and hops, with a nice finish. Ambrose (141) - East Aurora, New York, USA - APR 4, 2007

Nice dark brown pour under a thin tan head; medium carbonation, good mellow flavor, sweet but not too sticky. A nice surprise! yankeefan21 (135) - New York, USA - APR 11, 2008
BOTM: This pours surprisingly dark for an ale - a deep rich mahogany. The head is thin and soapy looking with large bubbles. The aroma consists mainly of toffee and malt. This has a surprisingly heavy but smooth body with just a faint touch of carbonation. There is a cerealy aftertaste that is quite pleasant. This is a very good beer for cold nights but not something I would drink on a hot summer day. I WILL be buying this again.
