on tap at brewpub. clear medium dark brown with a nice off-white head, some retention, nice lacing. toasted and roasted malts, some phenols, english hops indeed - grassy and citrusy. not much of english biscuity malt character. average to soft carbonation, med to full body, nice grassy-citrusy finish with a touch of alcohol. good but not classic esa. drowland (8676) - Georgia, USA - SEP 21, 2011
9/21/11. 12oz bottle. Dark brown, almost black pour, some ruby under the light, with a small tan head that fades fast and doesn’t lace at all. Big fruity aroma with dark fruits, molasses, and a bit of chocolate. Sweet flavor with a bit of tart fruits, roast, and earthiness. Not bad! Svesse (8595) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAR 3, 2010
(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 2 Mar 2010) Dark reddish brown colour with brief, beige head. Malty, slightly nutty nose with notes of chocolate and caramel. Malty, nutty taste with chocolate, dark bread, toasted grain and a gentle, spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, balanced sweetness. Well balanced and nice beer with alcohol well hidden. Dark brown with a red note. Clear. Light off-brown head. Malty aroma, light bread, faint roasted. Flavor starts sweet, faint vanilla-note, then some delicate hoppy notes. Finish moderate to heavy bitter. SudsMcDuff (8428) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - JAN 17, 2013

Sit, Ubu, sit - wasn;t that from Mad about you? I digress....Excellent strong ale - elements of Fuggles Hops - reminds me of a strong bitter. Nice, dark tea colored appearance with a mocha colored head. Pleasant chocolately aroma. Thick mouthfeel - gets better as it warms. drfabulous (7933) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - AUG 22, 2012

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2011 This beer came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark red-brown color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was a lovely mix of sweet malts, chocolate and ripe fruit. The flavor was sweet and malty with a light roasty undertone and notes of chocolate brownies and ripe fruits. The mouthfeel was fairly thick and smooth. Very nice!
