Bottle @ home via Secret Krampus courtesy toss from Andy. Mahogany pour with a short lived khaki head. This smells like Red Man chewing tobacco. Smoke, caramel, band aids, and candied orange peel. W@? Tastes of tobacco, beef jerky, smoke, and plastic. This is gross. According to vacax: "the lake may be superior, but this beer is a fucking piece of shit."

Bottle from Guerde - thanks man! Pours very dark brown/amber with a creamy off-beige head. Aroma seems woody. And smoky. Full bodied, almost. Flavor is woody, smoky, lightly brown sugar. Its near dry. It finishes smoky and a bit bitter. A little chocolate after a long time.

Hand written twist-off bottle 2008 vintage. It pours a dark brown with a big, creamy tan head. Nice lacing. The smell is dark and fruity. It is really nice. It is one of the better smelling BWs out there. The flavor is pretty good. A classic barleywine. Not overly alcoholic, just smooth and malty with some fruits, light hops and a lot of malt. Pretty good.

"pretty much the aroma and flavors youd expect from the style, but nothing really stood out. definitely on the dark side with a little toffee and dark fruit aroma, similar taste with some caramel as well and a bit of alcohol. medium bodied. just ok for a barlwywine."

Bottle... Dark, clear mahogany ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Fruity, vinous nose with lots of dates and port. Dark fruit flavor with adequate bitterness. A touch boozy. Full-bodied and oily with soft carbonation. Pleasantly bitter, grassy finish.
