12oz bottle, split with dwm1034. Pours a jet black color with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasty, a little cherry, some chocolate. Medium to heavy on the palate with soft carbonation. Flavor is sweet, roasty, chocolate, vanilla, tart cherry, with a light roasty finish. ganache (5910) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 21, 2013
12 oz bottle, fresh. Simple nose is inky chocolate and faint dark roast, pours an inky brown-black with a short light brown head. Taste moderately sweet with a hint of gentle alcohol poking its head out, minimal hops with smooth, portery chocolate/cocoa, very light red berries/fruitiness, could be cherry juice but it’s pretty faint. Silken medium body a little flat, to be honest, though that velvety smoothness is hard to achieve. Overall impression is genteel and refined, a nice change of pace of the general style, but with that comes a surprising, inoffensive ... blandness. Poured from bottle. Deep black body with light brown head. Chocolate with a hint of vanilla. AWISLguy (3109) - Wisconsin, USA - JAN 18, 2013
Bottle from Brook-Falls Discount. Pours a thick oily black with a brown head leaving some lacing. Intimidating. Aroma has raisins, cocoa, some roast and hints of smoke. All a bit muted. Taste is of molasses, chocolate nibs and a lot of roasting. Some viniousness and alcohol presense. Quite rough. I will stash one to see if it smooths out with aging. Finishes bittersweet with cocoa edges. Certainly interesting and more body/flavor than I expected from Lakefront. jlruthven (612) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 13, 2013
Fresh, bottled 12/26/2012. Very viscous appearance, nice mocha head. No real lacing or alcohol legs, but a very clean alcohol sheen on the side of the glass. Roasty nose, dark chocolate, and light tartness. Silky mouthfeel, but considerably muted flavors. Cherries coming through on the finish. Odd one. I’m holding on to the other three.

Clunky black pour. Nose is dark cherries, cocoa powder, licorice, light fig, and faint roast. Flavor is dark chocolate and cocoa with cherry Twizzlers and a twist of vanilla. Ends with a silky roast flavor and trailing cherry skin. A little grit and substance to it. Practically no alcohol presence and extremely drinkable. Had absolutely no expectations on this one and was impressed. OnWisconsin (132) - Wisconsin, USA - JAN 11, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 29, 2013 When pouring you could tell this was not going to let light in, jet black with a sliver of a brown sugar head. Aroma hits you with cocoa and cherries up front. On the palate you get the cocoa right away and cherries in the middle finishing it off with slight vanilla and a touch of bitterness. Mouthfeel just gets to the heavy phase with nice low carbonation. Could be a touch smoother but a very stout nonetheless. beerbaaron (1998) - Arizona, USA - JAN 4, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2014 Inky black. Small tan head that last till the end. Full creamy body. Robust, roasty, cocoa, milk chocolate, subtle vanilla. Slightest coffee finish. Smooth. Excellent cbfobes (2883) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Poured from 12oz bottle, pours pitch black with a nice creamy light brown head, aroma has a nice amount of chocolate with just a hint of the cherries and vanilla, the flavor has some chocolate on the front end with a sweetness of the cherries on the finish, the 11% is pretty well hidden, nice mouthfeel, pretty good stuff. demmbonz (732) - Erin, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 29, 2012
3 day old bottle to snifter. Pours thick oily black. Brown head dissipates quickly. Low carbonation. Aroma is some malt and maybe a little chocolate. Flavor is big stout and chocolate up front with the sweet vanilla lingering along with subtle cherry finish. Great beer lakefront. Cheers to 25 more!
