This one is a keeper. Pours dark black. Pencil thin head. Settles into unbelievable mouth full of cherry, vanilla, cocoa . Better and smoother as it warms. If you are lucky enough to find this gem buy it.

Bottle. Strong chocolate malt aroma, very inviting. Pours thick, dark black with only a touch of light brown head. Taste is absolutely fantastic with rich chocolate flavors and smooth silky body. Great.

This is awesome, definitely like a vanilla/cherry/cocoa dessert but not too sweet.

Comes out of the bottle a rich, warm sable with a thick and fairly persistent dark tan head. Smoky aroma has firm tones of quality coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, burnt hops and licorice. Flavor delights with notes of chocolate, coffee, roast malt, caramel and licorice plus subtle earthy and nutty hints. It is a bit sweet, but not cloying. Thick, smooth texture is none too fizzy, but still leaves a nice tingle. Very satisfying and lip-smacking. Grab a few since this is a limited edition. djroehler (292) - Minnesota, USA - JUL 15, 2013
Bottle. Pour is inky black, 2 finger mocha head. Aroma is rich chocolate, molasses, roasted malt, dark coffee, light earthy hops. Taste is slightly burnt coffee, dark chocolate, some molasses, lemon in the background, finishes with some earthy bitterness. Body is silky, medium, with light carbonation. hopscotch (11236) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 15, 2013
Bottle... This beer rocks!… Hazy dark-brown pour that sits black in my glass with a small, creamy, rust-colored head. Smells like a brownie - heaps of dark chocolate and toasted nuts, along with a subtle blueberry component. Full-bodied and mega-velvety with airy carbonation. The bittersweet flavor is a marriage of charcoal and ash accompanied by plenty of fudge. Near-perfect balance. Finishes lightly sweet, chocolaty and a just a hint boozy. If memory serves - and it usually doesn’t - this is by far the best offering I’ve ever tried from Lakefront! Bottle courtesy of FlandersNed! Bottle from the brewery (good thing too, haven?t seen this one in stores). Pours thick as tar and just as black, didn?t think it would have a head but actually ended up with a small, tight, dark brown head. Roasted malt, coffee, vanilla and cocoa aroma. Taste is a complex blend of sweet roasted malt and chocolate with a cherry tartness at the end. Full bodied and thick with a long bitter roasted finish. Wish I could find more of these because I could definitely get used to it.
