Pours a dark amber/brownish color with a off white head. Great aromas of hop with some caramel malt backing. Hints of alcohol from the aroma hints to big, bold brew. Flavor is of floral hops nicely balanced by the malt. Some fruitiness buried in there as well. Seems to be heavy on the carbonation as well. Alcohol makes its presents known in the middle of this brew as well. Nice Bitter finish Great tummy warmer!, Strykzone (7586) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - MAY 2, 2009
Dark caramel brown with a nice thick light tan head that has very good retention. Aroma is caramel with a big load of pine and floral hops. This is a well hopped beer and could make some double IPAs envious. There is also plenty of sweetness with citrus, roasted malt, caramel, faint chocolate. Alcohol is apparent in the aroma and flavor. There is also some significant dry bitterness that is felt in the back of the throat. If you like Double IPAs you will like this beer. A very big beer. I visited this brewery and had a BLAST and don’t normally think of it as a brewer of big beers. I might have to rethink. Headbanger (4020) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - APR 28, 2009
22oz bottle 4/28/09 (Discount Liquor-Milwaukee)-Pours a dark amber with a nice tight off white head. Aroma of floral hops, malt, and caramel. Taste begins with hops and malt that linger throughout and it finishes with a lot of malt and a bit of citrus. This medium bodied brew is a lot of flavors all balanced nicely. Nice job. Bottle courtesy of IronOrr. Copper body. Hoppy, floral nose. Very perfumy. Caramel notes in the aroma as well. Taste is hoppy with light citrus notes, herbal flavors, sweet fruit, caramel, and floral and earthy hop notes. There’s a sort of minty flavor to this at times. Body is medium with soft carbonation. The finish is more citrus notes, earthy and floral hops, light spice, caramel, orange peel, herbal flavors and some dark fruit. maniac (3800) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - APR 19, 2009

Source: 22 oz bottle purchased in Atlanta at Greens.
Appearance: Dark amber color with ruby highlights. Two finger cream colored head. Lots of lacing..
Aroma: Caramel malt with pine and citrus hops. Hops dominate the nose.
Flavor: Solid malt base, but the hops are dominant. Spices, grapefruit and pine are present.
Palate: Full body with medium carbonation and a slick mouthfeel.
Overall: Very impressive. Agree with the comparison to Stone AB. Wish I had bought more of this.
22 oz bottle pours a hazed copper brown body with a medium khaki head. Aroma of malty caramel opens but is quickly eclipsed by a ton of hops-pine, spiciness, and citrusy grapefruit and orange. Medium body is creamy, with moderate carbonation. Taste has some bold hopping. Grapefruit and pine lead the way, with spicy notes and some blood orange. Solid malt backbone of brown sugar and caramel. Similar to Stone’s Arrogant Bastard in a lot of ways. Nice effort. mcc5468 (122) - USA - MAR 21, 2009
Balance. This is a beer that has it. Good hop experience but malt flavor is also there, i was looking for a hoppy beer and this seemed to meet the search but also has a nice malt taste. Good beer. If you are a hophead it will satisfy you, and if you like matly beer it probably will like it as well. Pours a nice deep copper color, aroma was hoppy, head was about mediun. Good mix of hops and malt. SpringsLicker (3665) - Tennessee, USA - MAR 19, 2009
Hazy dark brown with a tall, choppy tan head.
Malty aroma is full of fruit, some raisins, with just a touch of citrus from the hops.
Sweet fruity flavor delivered with a full body. CheersMate (1343) - Portland (Sellhood), Oregon, USA - MAR 1, 2009
Picked this 22 oz. at Greens Buford Highway. Nice dark brown slightly ruby in color. Nice off-white tan head. Looks like a good beer. Has a nice hop aroma. Slight malt aroma. Beer has average texture. Bitter, but not very malty. Has a nice hop flavor, but there could always be more.
