3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: APR 19, 2013 Pours a dark blackish red from the bottle with thin tab cap of lacy head that spots nicely. Aroma is toasted malt, marshmallow, lager yeast, and chocolate malt. Taste is roasted barley up front and yeast, then a heavy marshmallow and chocolate flavor on the back end. Much better than I was expecting for the score or has on here.

maybe the best offering in the mixed-six. Nice balance, rich maltiness and decently crisp hop bite.

A very rich and complex flavored dark beer. The pour is dark brown with no spotting and it has a clean coffee flavored finish with hints of malt and other caramel undertones. Very good dark

Bottle, BOTM Club. Pours almost black brown with white ring. Malt and a hint of maple in the nose, sweetish malty, a little nutty taste, medium-body, soft carbonation, long, malty caramel aftertaste. OK.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours dark brown with minimal head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and caramel. Taste is light bitter. Coffee and dark chocolate. Light bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Soft carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, its ok. Lakefront has much better beers than this.

At a tasting, thanks DSG, small stable creamy head, clear and a little deep brown colour with red hues, light coffee with some dried fruits, flavour of dark sour bread, wood and coffee. Fair and drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Finally a nice brew from this 8 pack variety! The pour is a deep dark brown with a nice white head that leaves a ton of lacing. Aroma is light but gently draws you in which is perfect for the flavor. It’s roasty yet incredibly smooth! It has a very creamy mouthfeel and it is beautifully balanced. This is both sessionable and flavorful - quite nice!

Poured a clear brown color with a minimal white head. Aroma hits you immediately with the typical lager smells followed by roasted malts and a hint of chocolate. On the Los you are hit caramel roasted malts and burnt toffee. Mouthfeel is light with a good amount of carbonation.
