Brad brewed a Scottish Ale. This one’s a bright coppery brown with a malty flavor and aroma. Hoppiness take a back seat to the strong malt profile and hint of smokiness. In short, this thing ought to tighten the belt on your kilt.

Reddish brown color with a small, creamy head. Aroma is toffee malt with a smoky bitterness in the background. Flavor is very creamy, smoky malt with a hint of dark fruit sweetness and chocolate. Full bodied and creamy palate with a soft carbonation and a long, malty finish. Really starting to like this ’My Turn’ series.

It was...delicious. Malty, very pleasing. I only had the one bottle and I felt very sad when it was empty.

From the tap poured a dark brown color with a fair amount of head. Light malty flavor with a quick finish.

Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, toffee, light molasses and a hint of fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, toffee, light molasses and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth lingering toffee finish.

On tap. It is a simple beer. Obviously the nature of this series is to try to strike lucky with a one-off recipe. This one did not hit the mark.

On tap at Burnhearts. Deep translucent ruby copper with a slowly dissolving brown head and a ring of lace. Aroma of toffee, heavy malt, a hint of smoke and mild off-flavors. Taste of toffee, roasted malt, a touch of peat, mild dark fruit, dark sugar and a touch of chocolate. Not terribly sweet.

On tap at Tyranena as a guest tap, pours brown with a reddish hue in the light and a thin diminishing head, aroma has a good amount of earthy notes mixed in with a touch of smoke, the flavor has a sweet front end a finish of earthy notes and peat, not bad.

A nice aroma and flavor that is very true to style. Really very nice. Well done!

Bomber. Poured crystal-clear, garnety-amber with a nice cap of beige head.. great color. The aroma picked up sweet and toasty redder fruits, caramel, and a bit of smoked peat topped by some earthy notes and just a kiss of black pepper.. fresh, well-balanced, and really well done. The flavor found a touch of honey and molasses at the core to go along with smoked peat and redder fruit.. just enough fresh, dry bitterness on the edges.. finished with more fruit, smoked peat, and peppery alcohol warmth. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate.. great feel and flow, especially for the style.. very good brew.

Lakefront is 2 for 2 in it’s My Turn Series. Brad pours to a near unnatural head that makes for very nice lacing above a dark copper color. Maybe just a bit of floral hoppiness in the aroma, but this real is all about the malts in both the aroma and taste, which is nicely sweet. The pleasant sweetness continues through the finish. I didn’t get any of the advertised smokiness in my first bomber. Maybe I’ll have to try another....
