Bottle shared by alexsdad06 (Brad). Poured clear dark copper brown color with an average off-white frothy head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Good complex sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Good well balanced sweet malt flavor with a good sweet malt finish of moderate duration. Good complex brew. Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with a large, creamy light tan head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is a huge nose of chocolate, nutty, caramel, and biscuit malt, light fruity esters (dates) with faint earthy hops and some cinnamon/nutmeg character late. Flavor is malt dominant, light hops and bitterness, nearly imperceptible, with fruity esters and spices, and a medium sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation. crossovert (12920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 9, 2012
On tap. It is a simple beer. Obviously the nature of this series is to try to strike lucky with a one-off recipe. This one did not hit the mark. hopscotch (11087) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Bottle... Clear dark-caramel ale with flashes of burnt-orange when held up to light and a small, creamy, lightly-tanned head. Great retention. The toasty, biscuity nose presents subdued notes of minerals and hints of herbal roots. Medium-bodied with kicking carbonation. Well-balanced, toasty, light-caramel flavor. Finishes crisp and minerally with a caramelized toffee farewell. Bottle courtesy of KickInChalice!

Brown pour. Aroma of peat, caramel and ritz crackers. Sweet flavor, caramel, pale malts. Just average. DuffMan (10425) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 4, 2014
Bottle. Dark amber with reddish-orange highlights and a dense tan head. Lots of sweet malts here, burnt sugars, sponge toffee, with just a kiss of smoke that I could detect early on, but became lost in the sweet malt bomb. Not overly complex, but tasty enough. alexsdad06 (10400) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 2, 2013
22 oz. bottle from Binny’s SL. Pours a deep reddish amber brown color with a medium sized fine beige head. The aroma is sweet caramel/toffee malts, lightly toasted, sticky fruits, a very mild smoky peat with a light hop presence. The flavor is more sweet caramel/toffee, fruits, very light smoke with a mild earthy hop note. Thin with a softer finish. I am pretty sure it is required by law to drink any beer that shares your name. arminjewell (9646) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JAN 1, 2014
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, dark reddish brown pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of vanilla, oak, wood, some slight smoke into dark caramel, toffee, slight dark fruit, pretty nice. Taste is a mix of dark fruit, nuts, toffee, caramel, into some vanilla, woody notes, finishing slightly smoky, sweet. The age did well with this. b3shine (8872) - Indiana, USA - JAN 31, 2013
22 oz bottle to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks solid; a cloudy amberish-brown with light beige lacing. Smells of sweet malt, caramel, and some dark fruit. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Decent beer.
