Copper color with an off-white head. Scents of a dessert. Nutty. Butter pecan ice cream. Would pair well with a waldorf salad. 6/13

Pours a slightly cloudy, dark golden ruby red/copper color with mahogany edges and a one finger off-white head that quickly settles into a thin, lasting ring. Sporadic spotty lacing left behind.
Sweet, slightly spicy aroma with caramel malt, vanilla bean and subtle smoke. Some grassy, earthy hops followed by vanilla, pepper, malt sweetness, dark fruit and molasses. Kind of bland with subtle vanilla extract integrated into an Americanized dopplebock.
Medium bodied with peppery spice and a bitter, earthy hop character that lingers over faint vanilla, molasses and sweet malt flavors into a slightly dry finish. Thankfully, the favor is more interesting than the aroma suggests. Dry, sticky hop bitterness with peppery spice followed by caramel malt sweetness, bread, toffee, hazelnut, dark fruit and chocolate. The maple and vanilla notes are very subtle with a touch of sarsaparilla, vanilla bean and syrup. The high ABV is very well masked making this beer pretty easy to drink.
Overall, this beer was pretty interesting with an American twist on the style. I usually hate this, but the vanilla, maple and spice add complexity. Pretty flavorful and although I’m not a fan of hop bitterness in this style, this is a flavorful beer that I enjoyed drinking. slowrunner77 (12594) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 6, 2014
"Started a little one dimensional but opened up quite nicely. Good doses of maple, vanilla and breast bock. Not elite, but pretty damn smooth and enjoyable. The best Lakefront beer I’ve had (though memory loss is a common side effect of drinking). brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 12, 2014
Bottle @ Presidential Suite. Copper pour with a small white head. Nose of caramel, vanilla extract, and orange peels. Lots of toasted bread and brown sugar. Some apple, golden raisin, and cola. Flavor is quite sweet. Tons of vanilla extract and maple flavoring. Some candied walnuts, golden raisin, and caramel apple. Lots of bready malt, too. A touch boozy. jhp40219 (449) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUL 11, 2014
Bomber. Pours a clear dark copper with a light tan head that fades into a ring of bubbles fairly quickly leaving no lacing. Aroma of caramel, maple, and plum. Taste is burnt caramel, maple, plum, raisin, vanilla and alcohol. Rather heavy and filling. Quick but nice finish of roasted caramel and maple. Medium to full bodied, thick creamy texture, average carbonation. Interesting beer, Not quite to my expectations as I was hoping for a more pronounced maple and vanilla taste, but the caramel is far more dominate. Still a good beer and worth checking out.

22oz bottle. Tasted at RBSG grand tasting post-tasting. FUCK yes! Finally after 5600 beers.. I finally get to try a beer named after me! This was a long time coming. Clear red, slight orange red color. Thin ring of off-white head. Dots of lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light dry finish. Caramel malt, dark fruit, light spice. Light barrel influence. Bit of DMS, I think. Some savory vegetal quality. OK stuff. Taste is not great. Aroma is alright. skoisirius (1909) - Earth, Washington, USA - JUN 6, 2014
22oz picked up on the whim. Big smokey maple filled nose with hints of vanilla. Flavors bring out smoke, maple, wood, vanilla, sweet candied malts, and a tiny hint of booze towards the finish. Smoke throughout (nice). Thick almost syrupy body. A lot better than I’d thought! zoucrew102 (2050) - - APR 13, 2014
Bomber. Very pronounced maple aroma with notes of vanilla. Pours copper colored with a thin tan head and not much lacing. Taste is toasted malt to start followed by sweet make syrup and some vanilla. Finishes dry with a bit of a bitterness. Pretty good. krumbum (1109) - truckee, California, USA - MAR 8, 2014
Glowing orange color. Malty vanilla smell. Thick but sweet and light fragrant vanilla taste. Syrup mouth-feel. Cybercat (6035) - Georgia, USA - JAN 18, 2014
Pours a slightly hazy chestnut with a fairly icky an head. Malty aroma has notes of maple and vanilla - no surprise there. Flavor is quite sweet, almost a bit too sweet, vanilla and maple syrup notes plus a toasted malt undertone. Texture is thick and syrupy, not too fizzy. Fine ONI a small dose - don’t believe I could take a whole bomber at once. Take your turn.
