Picked up at my visit to Lakefront for a $3. Pours a dark brown/black color with a quick fading tan, bubbly head. Aroma begins with a light cherry tartness followed by a just a touch of toasted malt presence. Flavor has a very strong tart cherry flavor. The cherry flavor melds with some light chocolate and toasted Munich malt in the middle and finishes with a light noble hops spice and grassy presence. Body is modest with not much carbonation and a light puckering from the tart cherries. Overall I can’t believe this was being cleared our for only a few bucks. The cherries are a bit on the dominant side but the tartness is perfect with the malt paring. I could drink a lot of this on warm summer days - dark, tart and great sneaking maltiness at the finish. Flavor has some great cherry pie type of notes without the sweetness. Great beer! madvike (3271) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 23, 2014
Bottle - Deep cola color with ruby highlights and a light pinkish-tan head. Nose is chocolate, 7-grain bread, black cherry, and a little yeastiness. Taste is much of the same, grainy chocolatey malt, tart black cherry in the background, and a bitter, cocoa finish. Medium sweetness. Creamy in the mouth, though a bit on the thinner side. Wow. Gets better as it warms, and is tasty as hell as a dessert. Really liked this one. cbfobes (2883) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - MAR 11, 2014
Poured from 22oz bomber, pours a clear dark brown red with an off white head and some lacing, aroma is sweet with lots of sweet malt and sweet grain, a little bit of fruit comes through too, flavor has a nice smooth front end with a tartness of cherries in the finish, kind of sour but smooth at the same time, I’m surprised by some of the lower ratings actually, this stuff is solid. arkurzynski (2446) - Combined Locks, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 28, 2014
Dark brown with red hues. Nose of deep, dark cherry and cherry pit. Light notes of chocolate/cocoa. Flavor is tart to semi bitter dark cherry and cherry pit with a finish of bitter chocolate/faint roasted malt. Some dark fruit. Lightly sweet. Feels bigger than 6% in mouthfeel. Residual dark cherry and chocolate. Really captures that dark cherry meat flavor. Rather impressed. nuplastikk (6311) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 30, 2014
22oz bomber. Deep brown-red body, almost black in middle, but translucent edges. It works on some levels. The chocolate and cherries sweetness merge together well. The cherry begins to shine after a few sips, bringing you into Door County. Medium to full bodied, very easy going and sessionable. Not really any bitterness at all, this is all mellow, doughy malt with a cherry sweetness. Would be nice if they made this in sixpacks.

Bomber poured a hazy reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of caramel, cherry and light cocoa. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of cherry, cocoa and caramel with a crisp dry lingering cherry finish. zoucrew102 (1911) - - APR 13, 2014
Bomber. Sweet malt aroma with some sweetness from the cherries. Pours dark ruby red with a thin tan head and some lacing. Very light body and subtle malt flavor to start. Finishes smooth with good tart flavor of cherry at the end with the cherry flavor lingering on the palate. I enjoyed it. 1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 14, 2014
Pours to a deep brown body with a tall, thick, extremely lively creamy tan head. The aroma is kind of like a dunkel. Lots of brown malts with some lagery yeast and subtle cherry. The flavor has that dry lager quality. Almost like a European strong lager in flavor. Subtle tart cherry and lager yeasts. Up front it seemed lightly metallic, but that passed rather quickly and was likely due to the lagered brown malts. Creamy and thick but not sticky. Leaves the mouth watering. kkleu357 (634) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 8, 2014
Dark in color. Some red hues. Almost no head. What little there was dissipated quickly. Big roasty aroma. Slight fruit in the nose as well. Not bad taste. Interesting mix of dark coffee and sour fruits. Much better than I thought it’d be. AWISLguy (3162) - Wisconsin, USA - FEB 22, 2014
Bomber from Woodman’s in Waukesha. Pours a very dark brownish red with a tannish-orange head leaving some spots of lace. Aroma has chocolate and cherries and caramel. Taste is of black cherry. And black cherry. A tart, lightly sweet black cherry. Then, down through the glass, some caramelly malts and hints of chocolate. Light to medium bodied, lowly carbonated. Finishes sweetly fruity and tart, and quite short. Sure, tasty enough, and the most distinctly black cherry flavor had in a brew. Not much body. Would love to try the 25th anniv impy stout blended with this for a lot of body underneath the top black cherry flavor.
