Sampled on draught at the Great Northern Beer Festival 2014 in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear golden amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates. Aroma of mostly citrus hops, a touch of caramel malt and pine. Taste is medium bodied with flavors of multi-grain malt and citrus hops. Finish is quite smooth with some citrus hop and pine aftertaste that quickly disappears. Tongue shock recovery time is about three minutes. hopdog (13315) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 14, 2016
12oz bottle. Poured a golden color with an off white head. Citrus, fruity, floral, and some toasted caramel. JPDIPSO (6317) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAR 1, 2016
Golden to light orange color and a moderate sized beige head. Citrus, orange blossom honey, resin and light pine in the aromas. Sweet start, grass, grain, honey and syrupy malt join in. Light burn, not sure if it’s the alcohol or the hops. Finish has some spice and dry bitterness. 4/14 TattooJack (534) - Illinois, USA - DEC 5, 2014
I’m not sure who this Johnson fella is (Lydon B, Randy, or Howard either Met or hotel) but he makes a good beer. I’m a big fan of any beer that has a double or imperial in front of it’s name, so this my turn series is right in my wheel house. This has a fresh hops type of taste, and is strong without it being noticeable. I could drink this all day, oh wait I did. DocLock (11214) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 6, 2014
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid, bright orange juice color with a finger of frothy, loud, white head. Nose is intense, IBU-dripping hops, pineapple, mango, tangerine, grapefruit. Tastes resiny hoppy, with tropical fruit, a smooth, velvety, dense palate, and some white peppery and floral notes late. This was My Turn with my Johnson, and I bought extra, so next time, I will share my Johnson with y’all. And a Ba Ba Booey to y’all.

Clear amber with a thin white head.
Mild, sweet grapefruit/orange aroma.
Malty, orange and apricot..sweet with a dank hopiness.
Nicely balanced, overall...no overpowering notes anywhere. Just a smooth, sweet vs. bitter blending.
Very nicely done. BVery (11488) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - SEP 13, 2014
Bottle. Murky orange pour with a spotty soapy white head. Nice aroma of grapefruit and citrus - very nice. Soft juicy taste with a heavy dose of malt. Good beer. TheHOFF43 (2052) - Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA - JUL 14, 2014
Bottle. I’ll agree with many of the other comments, this did not seem like a DIPA to me, at all. It wasn’t bad but muted hops, overly malty and pretty bland. Spdsktr5 (2) - - JUN 4, 2014 does not count
Not a bad beer. I really expected more out of a double IPA. Kind of a letdown. Starts great, but finishes kind of weak.
