Draft at the american craft bar in the hyatt. They labeled it as their house beer. Lighter taste then it looks. Very good easy drinking njnut (486) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - MAY 4, 2014
Poured into tulip glass a orange tinged amber with small white head and some lace. Not much carbonation and with a slight haze. Aroma was malty, earthy caramel and cereals. Taste was caramel malt, light toast. Silky in the mouth. No hops in either and not bitter. Seemed to me more an English brown. Not bad, different and refreshing. I enjoyed it. alexsdad06 (10784) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - APR 28, 2014
22 oz. bottle in late 2011 or early 2012 from notes. Pours a deep orange/amber color with a medium sized off white colored head. The aroma and flavor have crackers, some toasted bready malts, earthy hops, fruity character, apples. Creamy body. Mild green bitterness in the finish. Not too bad from these guys. On tap at Milwaukee Brew Fest 2013. Pour is hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma/flavor of orange peel, caramel sugar, and sweet fruits. Aftertaste is acidic with fresh fruit and malts. AllHailtheAle (6) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 15, 2014 does not count
Not a bad beer by any means. Needs considerable refinement though, the main issue is that it is just not very memorable. Its kind of like the beer version of a dream, as soon as its over you completely forget what it was all about. That said it would definitely be a good introductory beer. It’s the kind of beer I would offer to someone who has not yet acquired the taste for the more bitter offerings of the best craft beers.

651 ml. bottle. Bottled 7/11/13. Pours a medium, well retained ivory head, with slight lacing over a hazy dark amber (SRM 16) body.....nose is light spice with ginger, cinnamon tones, light peach, no hops.....taste is lightly sweet throughout, ginger, peach, melon, hints of cereal, light toffee/caramel, finishing with minimal bitterness.....mouth feel medium, alcohol hidden, carbonation low with minimal acid. This beer is a messy melange of aromas, flavors and sweetness, that really don’t get to a Biere de Garde. It has many spice, semi-tropical fruit tones, but the basic malts are subdued. The result is a beer that is almost soda like. It needs more in the simple malt back bone, perhaps some hop changes and greater attenuation. Golden brown in the glass with good amount of white head. Fair amount of carbonation that makes for a spectacular dance inside the glass.
Simple and light on the pallette but not very flavourful. The taste does not linger for long. Not very aromatic.
I like it for it’s simplicity but I prefer something more flavorful pictoman (1211) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 1, 2014
Poured from 1 pint (6 fl oz) bottle. Orangey yellow with white head. Caramel malt aroma. Same taste, but fairly unmemorable. Dacrza (1034) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - DEC 30, 2013
DATE TASTED: December 22, 2013... GLASSWARE: Maudite snifter...OCCASION: fantasy football championships on the line... APPEARANCE: dark reddish-brown glistening body; uneven white head; steady bubble with hazy smears of lacing--not unattractive... AROMA: bright, malty presence; yeasty bouquet--fresh and floral--decently balanced... PALATE: warming, unexpectedly creamy body; aftertaste affords more than the "fleeting experience" the label foretells--and the aftertaste is not one to hold on to...TASTE: a cinnamon, slightly medicinal/syrupy experience--surprisingly not what a bier de garde is supposed to be; astringent wine-like red blushes the pallet late; a struggle to chew, let alone enjoy ... OVERALL: bad bombers really disappoint, and though this beer kindles winter spirits with a firewater kind of fever, this truly resembles no b.d.g. I’ve had before... mkel07 (6384) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - NOV 22, 2013
650ml bottle from Archive Beer Boutique. Golden amber colour with a sweet malt honey aroma. Lots of flavour and a good hit of alcohol.
