Like a Northwest France strong summer ales - quenching and refreshing, but robust enough to match the full-bodied fare of a brasserie. Rendezvous Ale is a hybrid of malty richness and enough hops acidity (Brewer’s Gold, Tradition) to cut through the strong flavors of roasted lapin au moutarde, or a burly beef steak fries.

Thanks to Ian for the bomber. Hazy amber pour. Rustic malty candy and toffee aroma. Taste is clean crisp malt with candy sweetness and hints of toffee. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy amber beer, residual white head. Light semi dry palate. Okay balance of malt and dry orangey hop. Trace of pepper. Dry malty finish. Inoffensive but dull.

Pours a deep, ruby red color with a minimal head that quickly disappears. I got mostly plumb on the nose, with a bit of licorice and raisins. This beer is big on the sweetness, and you get a bit of a hop bite in the end surprisingly. Very slow drinker, as it is thick and sticky in the mouth. I did not enjoy the first sip of this beer as much as the last sip, but this is the first time I have had a beer of this style.

Crisp fruity malt aroma. Cloudy light brown color with small off white head. Light sweet beginning with a strong bitter and light burn middle that fades in the finish.

Bottled at SBWF. Hazy amber, small head. Caramelly herbal aroma. Sweet with medium-full body and soft mouthfeel. Fudge and butter with syrupy sweetness and low bitterness. Cloying and bold with very low drinkability.

[email protected] Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, earth, mild spices, farmyard as well as some slight spicyness. Flavour is very similar in a rather sweet way. A lot sweeter than most of the BdG I have had from France.

Stockholm Beer & Whiskey 2012: Malt och sirap = sött. Tyvärr liten för ensformig och inte för mig.

gyllenbock (9315) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 7, 2012
Sample at SBWF 2012. Slightly hazy darker orange with a small head. Aroma and taste of yeast, fruit, bread and some spices. Also light notes of funk. The finish was dry.
