COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The rich amber color and caramel flavor of this beer are derived from the generous amount of caramel malt in our recipe, with just a dash of roasted unmalted barley for a subtle toasted flavor in the background. The sweetness, body, and mouth feel tell you that this is an all-malt beer. The finish has a balanced edge of Willamen and Casade hoppiness which cuts through the malty character, leaving a clean palate which beckons for more. Note: the terminology of "stein" refers to the appropriate drinking vessel and not to a type of beer made with hot rocks.

I got to enjoy Riverwest Stein with some fried cheese curds and some golden-brown strips of fried lake perch. Its hard to get more Wisconsin than that. Hard to dream up a better pairing for the meal, too. Riverwest Stein pours amber and has a decidedly malt-forward aroma. Flavor is lightly toasty and has lots of caramel sweetness. For all the maltiness, theres a quick, smooth finish with just a flash of hops. Not the most complex beer out there, but its undeniably tasty.

Intense grain and bread malts, caramel. Clear, dark gold, medium, creamy, off-white head. Medium sweet. More sweet grain malts, lively carbonation, light bitterness coming up in the finish. OK Amber, nothing too spectacular though. Keg at brewery, Milwaukee.

On tap in Burlington Iowa afternoon before the Dead & Co show. Pretty disappointing. Some malt and bread flavors, but generally a cardboardy lager quality.

Drank this beer from a glass poured from a bottle, this beer had a medium to dark brown and red pour with a good mix of haze and gave a one finger white and faint off-white cover that receded to a ring and thin layer of bubbles, it left some small fingers and spots of lacing on the glass, the nose had munich malt with some melanoidins, a little dark toasted malt, some toasted bread and caramel like notes with light hops, a little malt sweetness, there was munich malt with dark malt flavors, light citrus and spice hops, some dark toasted bread and faint caramel with malt/bread medium sweetness, there was a hint of brown sugar like sweetness but not quite there, the mouth feel was light with average carbonation, it was creamy on the lips, this beer resembled a dark amber beer with a mix of dark Octoberfest beer on the nose and flavor, it was tasty and in some ways reminds me of the Shorts older version of Noble Chaos before they changed the beer to its current state, this was a good drink.

Thank you, Lakefront Brewery, there in Milwaukee; this, too, is a beer that should make Milwaukee famous.

Aroma - toasted malt and spiced hops. Appearance - the body is hazy, unfiltered, and amber in color. The head is about 1" and off-white. Head sticks around for a while, and fades into a small slice. Taste - caramel malt, with some spiced hops. There is a slight oak about the flavor. Palate - medium body, slight creaminess, average carbonation, and a slight pungent bitter finish.

Bottle from variety case. Pours an amber color with a generous head. Staying power too. Aroma is timid with fresh caramel malts. Creamy palate. Smooth beer. Slight hops. Tofee biscuit notes. Medium light body. I enjoyed this beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
