3.3
yespr (48207) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUL 9, 2007
From 12 oz bottle. Pours black with a huge creamy light brown head. Thick malty and liqourice aroma. Smoked flavour with a rather thin body. Smoked, dry and slight sour finish.

3.4
Ungstrup (38597) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 30, 2007
Bottled. An almost pitch black beer with a faint red shine under a lacing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of coffee. The flavor is sweet roasted combined with notes of cocoa, leading to a dry end with light notes of coffee. The body is a bit thin.

3.4
Papsoe (25055) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 13, 2007
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Pours completely black and opaque with a handsome, tall, dense light brown head leaving some lacework. Tart but also burned aroma. Rather thin in body with very burned, ashy malt notes. The finish is dry. Not bad. 080707

Ratman197 (15474) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAR 13, 2008
Bottle poured a translucent dark brown with a minimal lingering tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and a hint of vanilla. Light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of roasted malt, coffee and light dark chocolate with a smooth lightly dry moderatly bitter finish.

1.9
argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 19, 2008
(12oz bottle, bottled 3rd week, Feb.) Small and creamy beige head that mostly dissipates, atop brown-black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, molasses, coffee, some chocolate syrup, roast. Taste evidences infection, as the sourness overwhelms the hint of chocolate left behind -- I seriously consider my 2/10 score for flavor to be an act of charity. Bummer.

3.5
Drake (14110) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 9, 2017
Keg at the brewery four days ago. Black, thin creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, roast. Slightly thin, very drinkable. Solid.

2.2
crossovert (14038) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 9, 2011
Watery like Guiness, but somehow better. Lakefront is a great brewery but this is one of their worst.

3.5
Dogbrick (14019) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 8, 2004
Thanks to Darkover for the trade. Lakefront is one of those brewers where all their beers are decent but nothing really stands out. This Stout is along those parameters. Dark brown color (not quite opaque) with a medium thin light brown head. Thin and sticky lacing. The aroma is nice and roasty with coffee and cocoa. Medium-bodied (just a little thin for the style) with lots of coffee and a little chocolate in the flavor. The finish is dry and mildly roasty. Overall a fair offering. The components for an exeptional Dry Stout are all here, it just needs a little more oomph.

2.2
hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 13, 2016
12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown with a large sized tan head. Some roast and earthiness.

slowrunner77 (13006) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 6, 2014
"light bodied and smooth. taste was ok (average at best) but none of us could get past the funky/sour notes in the nose. not roasted malt/coffee/chocolate, but diaper and sour...in a dry stout. WTF? Anyway, not a good stout and not a brewery i’ll be revisiting."
