Wisconsinite: the most Wisconsin beer ever! Made with 100% Wisconsin-grown malted barley, wheat, and hops, including a unique, first-of-its-kind, never before fermented, indigenous Wisconsin yeast strain. It pours a hazy, unfiltered, straw color with a fine white head. The mild clove, banana, and citrus aromas from the Wisconsin yeast go well with the malty sweetness and fresh baked wheat bread flavors. With its light body and lively effervescence, Wisconsinite is a refreshing summer session beer.

12 oz bottle with only the WK3 marked on the label, but certainly from 2013. Pours hazy golden with a towering, and over-zealous head that quickly dies to a top coat. Somewhat unappealing aroma, although this is my usual reaction to this style. Theres less over-ripe banana and more lemon here than usual, but still a bit of barnyard and too much soapy floral aroma. The smell didnt improve with warming. The taste is better, with mainly a tart citrus-wheat flavor. Lively carbonation in a fairly light bodied beer.

Bottle, my 4300th rating. Slimy yeasty-wheaty nose with lemon and light but pleasant esters, touch of vanilla. Gradient yellow-golden pour with a big sudsy bright white head. Effervescent medium body, perhaps a bit too fizzy, light minerally bitterness, very mild sweetness that is just enough for repetition. Smooth but a little slimy, clove coming through nicely and their even getting some nice pretzel at the end. Pleasant wheat character, light spice, clean yeast, very impressed.

Overly active pour from a 12 oz. bottle to a Czech-pils type fest glass. After a number of careful pours, waited quite awhile for a good aroma read. Displayed a clear, golden color, with billowy, lasting head foam, and wavy cling to the lacing. The aroma was light tartness, citrus, mild spice, a hint of banana, light grain, and sweet biscuit/wafer notes. Light bodied, with lively effervescence, the flavor was tart & dry, lemony citrus, not very noticeable banana, but a good deal of clovey hints, especially as it warmed, and low hop bitterness. More of a summer Wit with some Hefe characteristics. Nevertheless, a refreshing, summer sessionable.

keanex (1799) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - AUG 11, 2013
Bottled March 21, 2013.
Appearance: The body is lightly hazy with a golden to amber hue, the head is tall and fluffy, slowly settling into a dense white coating.
Aroma: The aroma is a complex medley of tart lemon, grass, unripened banana, and hints of cloves and an earthy presence.
Taste: Clean straw and light lemon tartness greet the tongue first and sticking through to the finish, hints of unripened banana and a mild clove presence are noticeable towards the end of the mid-taste along with hints of orange. Clean and drinkable, but mild.
Palate: Light and crisp bodied, lots of carbonation.
Overall: This isnt an astonishing hefeweizen, its a bit too clean and mild for my liking, but its 4.2% and its very refreshing. Certainly a good beer, but it wont stand up to the likes of Sierra Nevadas Kellerweis.

Bottle. Pour was hazy, nice aroma of yeast, malts, bread, banana and clove. Flavor matches the aroma, some sweet citrus and very refreshing. Not my favorite style but I liked this.

Nice summer session brew. Slightly sweet, a little spice, and smells citrusy. I will buy a few of these again.

Yeasty fruit aroma. Bubblegum and hops. Pale golden with a cream white head. Crisp fruit at first then it evens out to a slight bitter.

Pours a light yellow with heavy carbonation to create some white head. Aroma is citrus with lemon and orange, as well as wheat and grass. A very nice summer beer. Light taste with lemon, wheat, yeast, some malt, and orange. Has some hops that give it a round flavor, but not bitter.

notalush (5835) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 28, 2013
Hazy light copper - nose is fairly sweet (honey), with some notes of clove, banana and overripe apples, as well as some bready wheat and yeast - carbonation is full, but fairly soft in the mouth - a little thin up front, but fills out decently in the long term - light acidity up front, followed by moderate sweetness, flavors of melon rind, clove - slight spicy/peppery notes arrive late - bready, lightly tangy finsh - not bad.
