2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Just a fake beer from an ad agency in Minneapolis that thinks the way to market a beer is all through social media and fake drone delivery stories, without a single word of copy about its taste. Still, it was being closed out at $3/6 at Binny’s, and I need some plain ole’ beer to drink without thinking. Pours is surprisingly a bit darker than the usual pale lager.Respectable head of fizz. A bit of malt and hop in the nose, and the usual papery oxidation. And it’s actually pretty drinkable at first. Seems to be all grain, with some peppery lager hops. But then some notes of adjunct and fusel kick in, and it just stays bitter with no aromatics to speak of. A better gimmick beer than a craft beer.
Clear red amber with a small beige head. Aroma is light but mostly sweet malt and grain. Flavor is kind of papery malt and a bit of hops bite at the end. Short stale hop finish rounds it out, Really let down by this one. I was expecting more. RobertDale (6662) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - NOV 10, 2014
12 ounce bottle. Pours a darker gold with a decent white head. Aroma of malt and grain. Taste is malt, grain, and some metal. Picked this up while grabbing a pick six. Oops. crossovert (13457) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 15, 2014
355ml twist off bottle. Seems LAkemaid has turned into its own thing apart form Schell, this is brewed at Point. Miss Sturgeon on the label. Amber pour, fizzy quickly dissipating head. Smell is toasted grain, not much else. Flavor has that typical point metallic garbage flavor, and some diacetyl, slight peppery hop bite. Pretty lame.
