Pours clean amber colour with small white head that disappears. maybe its because i have low expectations of this beer, but its actually drinkable. Not overly carbonated or lively, but easy to drink. It does not have harsh malt after taste either. czar (9085) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 10, 2015
pours clean dark golden, red tint, with a disappearing off-white cap, no lacing. caramel maltiness and sweetness, some toastiness and fruitiness - miscellaneous red fruits; faint grass and herbs, fusel traces - which seems to be automatic for ’’strong’’ macro, i.e. 0.5% abv more than usual; otherwise clean. average carbonation, light body; semi-sweet and bland caramel-herbal finish. yikes. probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 20, 2015

App.: Clear copper with a tight, off-white head.
Aroma: Light bready, possibly caramel maltiness, a bit of sulphur, light melanoidin, something that could almost be vegetal.
Palate: Medium body, fairly full, fine carbonation.
Flav.: Light bready malt with a light fruity sweetness, a touch of caramel, faint sulphur, no hops to speak of; lightly sweet with gentle+ bitterness and a lightly malty finish.

Pours clear deep golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, corn and hint of grass. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with a cornish finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is fizzy
Can. It’s a clear, dark golden beer with a small, off-white head. The aroma is rather corn-ish, with some caramel hints and a touch of fruityness. It’s sweet on the palate, medium bodied and soft, with some caramel flavors and next to no bitterness. Fruityness and some grass and a wee touch of corn too. Medium length finish. Not awful this one, but the aroma is close. Please drink ice cold. 150616

Cloying, vegetal, fusel alcohol, and loads of wet paper. Cheap grains, lots of cloying sugars dominate. The finish has no bitterness and a rough cooked veggies after taste. Yuck. Spab (3846) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 21, 2014
473 ml can from the Beer Store. Pours a clear amber colour with small off-white head. Aroma is some caramel, light grains and a bit of corn. Flavour is cheap caramel malt, corn syrup and light graininess. Syrupy mouthfeel. Mediocre. Strangebrewer (1308) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 28, 2014
can. Poured clear deep amber with a thin diminishing off-white head. Sugary sweet malt aroma. Medium body with average carbonation, slightly dry metallic finish. Flavour of roasted carame malt and molasses with grassy grains and an odd vodka note. lvanbelkom (11) - Brampton, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 13, 2013
Laker red is my go-to cheap beer. A staple for Ontarians looking to go local but that is just about where the bus stops. Very bland, familiar red lager flavour, no real distinct body or finish... just throw it back and turn the music up I suppose. Metalchopz (3388) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 25, 2012
Originally rated August 2005. Their site still says 5.9% ABV, but the label on my bottle is at 5.5% ABV. Bought in Ontario too. Pours a clean golden-brown-red colour with a foamy off-white head. Light carbonation and retention, with no lacing in sight. The nose is pretty impressive though, with strong rusty malt. The mouthfeel is watery and the taste is far from what it smells. Mostly corn. Starts off slightly bitter, but middle is corn, finish is corn and aftertaste is corn. Nothing offensive, and if you like corn... you will like this one. Just don’t expect a red tasting brew.
