We’re no monks, but our Belgian-style IPA gives a tip of the hat to our divine brethren. Brewed with rich malt, noble hops, Trappist yeast and a kick of coriander, this is one complex beer. Hop Trapp pours with a refined bitter backbone, floral hoppy notes and a decidedly Belgian finish. This brew is worthy of some serious contemplation.

Pours amber orange with a one finger off white head with nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, pine, belgian funk, sweet malts, and toasted malts. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a semi dry, semi biter, medium finish. Overall, a decent, above average IPA that has a nice belgian twist to it and is pretty drinkable.

Bottle at Reata restaurant in Ft Worth The IPA poured a clear copper color with an off white head. The off-white head dissipates slowly with limited lacing. There an aroma of citrus with some spices. The medium body ale had average carbonation. This is nice IPA. We were at the Reata for dinner at a Redskins away game with the Cowboys. Great win!!! The finish was smooth with a pleasant bitter aftertaste..

Bottle - flavor is well pronounced, stays on the palate longer than most beers. Aroma is fairly sweet too.

Bottle. This is more Belgian than IPA. Yeah there are hops but the Belgian yeast takes over. More hefe Belgian wheat than anything.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle at home. The aroma of this beer is amazing. Strong smells of citrus, almost smells like an orange! The appearance is golden with a thick white head. Taste is hoppy with a smooth taste at first and then the aftertaste is bitter. Overall good IPA. I’ve had better, but it’s a solid ale.

TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 29, 2014
Pours a nice slightly occluded amber color. Citrusy, yeasty, and piney on the nose; all follow onto the palate. Finishes with a bit of spice and flowery hops. Fairly complex for an everyday IPA.

Bottle - Fruity yeast esters and some light citrus. Clear copper with a thin beige head. Fruity yeast, dry bitterness and a clean finish. Nicely balanced sweetness and bitterness, easy drinking and quite nice.

Sample at The Bottle Shop in Dallas. The beer pours a clear copper color with a medium thick and fluffy off-white head that dissipates slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and spices. Medium-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops, malt and fruity yeast. The finish is moderately bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.
