We’re no monks, but our Belgian-style IPA gives a tip of the hat to our divine brethren. Brewed with rich malt, noble hops, Trappist yeast and a kick of coriander, this is one complex beer. Hop Trapp pours with a refined bitter backbone, floral hoppy notes and a decidedly Belgian finish. This brew is worthy of some serious contemplation.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2013 Dark copper-amber with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel, bread, Belgian yeast, and light florals. Taste is sweet and a little yeasty with very little bitterness. Medium bodied. Not bad.

Tap at the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy dark orange color with a frothy cream colored head. Aroma is fairly yeasty right off the bat. Earthy hops, slight pine and soil. Bit of spice. Flavor is dry, hoppy, earthy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not the strongest beer from lakewood in garland texas, but a decent ipa. Hoppy but not punch you in the face hoppy, light with a little bite on the finish.

Interesting and better than expected. Faint aroma of floral hops. Dark copper color with a decent head. Medium weight with good carbonation. Spicy hoppy flavors up front. Peppery and the Belgian yeast adds a good curve ball to make this beer stand out in the sea of IPA’s. Tasty and worth a second visit.

Bottle from Rosebud Butternuts. Aroma seems floral/citrus with a nutty touch. Med body or better. Flavor is spicy, citrus, malty. The flavors are fairly strong - tho this is not a NW mouth burner the hop and yeast/spice are making it bitter enough. This flavor is quite different. Nice stuff.

On [email protected] Foods Dallas. Clear amber color with ivory head. Nice bready pale malt aromas with belgian yeast spices. medium body, average carbonation. Dusty bready pale malt flavors with earthy belgian spices, and some mild flora---tasty IPA.

Bottle. Not bad, but not the Belgian style deliciousness that I was hoping for. Worth a try if you're interested, but I wouldn't return to it.

Not sure I have tried a Belgian ipa before; sounds like a good idea. aroma was that of a Belgian - yeast, spice. Taste starts that way and then moderately strong bitter hops kick in. didn’t like it mostly due to the bitterness but Lakewood is doing a good job overall, this just wasn’t my style.
