COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lambics are truly the wines of the beer world. With wine one speaks of gout de Terroir because the land so influences a wines flavor. With Lambics, one must speak of gout de Tonneau SM because each cask (tonneau) produces a lambic that matures and tastes different. Blending these Tonneau is such an art that there exist independent Geuzestekkerij (blenders) who buy young Lambic then age and bottle it under their own name.

Lambickx is Vanberg & Familles brand of hand-selected and blended lambics. Every Lambic with the Lambickx name is made from casks personally tasted and chosen by Don Feinberg, one of the first importers of Belgian beer to America and founder of the first Belgian-only brewery in the U.S. Don chooses his Lambics for their complexity, brilliance and drinking excellence both by themselves and as exquisite accompaniments to food.

Delicious and refreshing beer. Aroma was nice. Sour vinegar with hints of lemon, must and wet blanket. Pour was a nice light cloudy gold with a thin white film for a head. Taste was delicious. Heavy vinegar, hay and earthy with a lot of funk (sometimes it feels lik,e its coming up the nasal passages). Nice and tart but not overly sour like other gueuzes but still a great beer. Medium carbonation.

2012 750mL bottle pours a copper orange with a minimal white head. Sweet aroma, oak, horseblanket, vinous. Taste is bitter, flat, sour. Lacking tartness and not very lively. Lack of yeast on bottle tells me this wasnt refermrnted and didnt age well.

Bottle in Seattle. I gave it to Trevor for his birthday, but he shared it with me on mine! Slightly cloudy orange-yellow. No head. Stunning deep fruit, lots of complex wood, lots of funky white wine yeast. Delicious. Sweet, delicious round tart. So drinkable.

Big, big thanks to Matt for this gem. Orange/copper pour. No head at all. Nose is earthier than the flavor, which is more acidic. Mild citrus rind over dusty barnyard funk. Fuzzy, with a light grapefruit finish. Great balance. The word that comes to mind is "authentic." Love it.

sjogro (3554) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAY 27, 2016
Sampled from bottle at THT May. Hazy honey golden, thin white head. Grapes, hay, herbs, grassy, rubber, dusty cobwebs, funk. All flavors seem muted, watery. Light sweet, light sour, light bitter, light minerallike saltiness. Medium body, little watery but good flavors. Like this, just less impressive than some of the others, but very enjoyable and sessionable.

Bottle at THT thanks to jtclockwork for the trade! Slight hazy copper golden with some bubbles and a light thin film. Quite some funk, light rubber, mineral water, gooseberries, cobwebs, quite some grains too. Light sour and bitter with very light sweetness. Almost medium bodied and almost flat. Pretty decent stuff.
