COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Christmas Beer.
Ale in Belgian Speciality Ale style. Christmas amber coloured beer with orange reflections which give vigour during cold winter nights. On the nose, it features notes of mixed blossom honey, peach and apricot in syrup, with a light spicy taste of ginger. In the mouth, it brings out notes of syruped fruit and honey, and fragrance of dried fruit in the end, almond in particular. It has a delicate bitter taste which is not in contrast with the sweet taste of the dominating fruity notes. 19°

Fruity, honey, hints od spices, orange with a good white head quite persistant, medium body, medium carbonation, alcohol is quite well hidden, malty, honey...very good, but for me there is a lot of beer bettere than this for the winter.

Drayght at Uiltje Bar. Clear dark golden with a medium white head. Medium to full body with low to moderate carbonation. Quite sweet with subtle bitter tones. Ripe fruits, malts, caramel and honey. Altough it’s pretty sweet it’s still a tasteful brew.

Light and clear amber with a fairly large head. Caramel forward taste that devolves into a bitter, funky mess.

On tap at Bir & Fud. This Christmas ale was a vibrantly clear copper with a foamy head & a dank hoppy aroma. Definitely a different take than most Italian Christmas beers! Med-light bodied with a spritzy carbonation. The taste is bready sweet & bitter but well balanced. Maybe in a similar vein to Sierra Nevada’s Celebration?

Mortlach (2347) - Rome, ITALY - DEC 30, 2014
On tap @Stavio (Rome). Clear amber with a big white head. Aroma is belgian yeasts, fruity, raisins, brown sugar, orange peel, some spices. Flavour is well balanced between sweetness and a decent bitter end, caramel, candy sugar, fruits, alcol is very well hidden. High body, medium to low carbonation. A bit simple, but refined and well brewed, complimenti!
