My Bottom Line:JorisPPattyn (10001) - Ursel, BELGIUM - SEP 9, 2008
Earthy hop resins surround the mild malt sweetness in this smooth and moderately bitter American-style Pale Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A pillowy head of foam slowly sinks into the hazy blond orange.
-Some caramel undertones are felt.
-The handpump serving imparts a very smooth mouthfeel.
-I am used to enjoying more hop aromatics from the style, so the politely citrusy nose was a little too subdued for my tastes.
-The resinous hop bitterness is lengthy but never overbearing.
On cask at the brewpub.
Draught Small head, very fast gone over (cold) hazy pale-orange beer. Nutty nose, slighly oxydized malts, followed after some time by UK-like hops; further caramel. Very nice lightly bitter in the British way, but with a strange retronasal flavour, very outspokenly reminiscent of peanut butter. Not really light body; good carbonation. Strange, but certainly not bad - makes a good ’quaffing’ ale. Skinnyviking (9570) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 16, 2009
Bottle. Medium high white and lasting head. Clear golden body. Fruity aroma with grassy notes. Mild but fairly hopped barley malt flavor with caramel low carbonation and a long dry aftertaste. Dedollewaitor (16158) - Odense, DENMARK - MAY 18, 2009

Bottled (from GBBF2009, ABV 4.5%). Amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is fruity and floral hops with some mild notes of parfume. 750ml bottle from Peckham’s. Hazy reddish amber brown colour, not much head. Orange & tropical fruit aroma. Biscuit & orange flavour, Very dry finish. Different take on an American Pale Ale, less hoppy than expected but not bad.
