COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Porpora is an interesting Bock hopped with Styrian Golding, Perla and Cascade and dry hopped with Styrian Golding.
Lager in the Hopped Bock style. Bright red colour with ruby reflections. On the nose, caramel notes are neat and followed by clear herb notes from hoppers, finally surmounted by winy and dried fruit scents. It tastes of syruped fruit but it never becomes sickly, thanks to the perfect balance ensured by the hopper. As a whole, this beer has an extraordinary balance which makes it extremely easy to drink. 18°

Draft at the pub. This one was slightly more bitter than the regular bock, But still pretty tasty. Decent stuff.

Caramel and fruits notes, clear reddish/violet with practically no head, light/medium body, law carbonation, too hoppy for the style for me...not bad but not great.

ThreeCats (900) - ISRAEL - OCT 26, 2016
Clear mahogany with a tan head. Aroma is a mix of caramel, dark fruit, and zest, very intriguing. Taste is less of a double bock and more cascadadian brown ale. Doesn’t have the sweetness or fullness you’d expect from a double bock, rather it’s drier and hoppier.

Toffee, caramel, light lactose, lightly salted, burn molasses. Clear, dark brown, medium, creamy, beige head. Medium sweet. More caramel, dark, toasted malts, sweet, dark fruits, soft carbonation, full bodied. Very nice Doppelbock, rich and sweet. Keg at The Italian Job, Chiswick.
