Cloudy, pale amber color. Fruity aroma (peach ? apricot ?) and candy (barley-sugar). Flavor of malt, fruits and candy. Sweet finish that leaves a chalky feeling in the mouth. Light body, soft carbonation. Special and enjoyable. PrimeMinister (138) - Quebec, CANADA - APR 29, 2004
Very interesting creamy head. This beer doesn’t hide it’s alcohol and while this can seem brutal in the beginning, it becomes warm in the finish. It has a nice malt taste. Effervescence is creamy and sirup-like. There is a taste of honey. There is also a distinct smoke taste and a small taste of melon. Eructoblaster (4205) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 19, 2004
Nice dark gold body with superb long-lasting brownish head. Its malty aroma (with some hints of honey) doesn't hide the alcool pretty well, but it is not unpleasant. The texture is lightly syrupous and the taste got some warming effect. Bitterness reveals itself in the dry final. Interesting product. Reminds me some Oktoberfest beers... Not so different from the Vollbier actually. On tap, this appears pretty much the same color slightly more biscuity sweet while the vollbier was drier. Good, but nothing more. dirtymike (2016) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 16, 2003
Amber in color, with small white head.Spicy hop aroma and flavor.Maltly, clean and bready.

Little aroma. Nice amber colour with decent white head. Rather anonymous middle of the road flavour. Nothing assertive about this beer. Not a bad beer by any means but not one of the best at this fine brewpub. On tap. muzzlehatch (4959) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 31, 2003
Nicely colored, clean and simple malty lager. Not bad at all, but also not much going on. Slightly bready. dhurtubise (568) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 11, 2003
A very nice malty clean hoppy lager. It is amber in colour and has a rich white brilliant head. This another excellent beer with a strong saaz hop profile to balance the biscuit doughy malt character. I could sit and drink this one all night. MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 5, 2002
UPDATED: AUG 24, 2016 A Cerna Hora with a caramel touch...Hops are more subdued due to the sweeter malts, but all remains as drinkable and well structured as the mother pilsner...This is dangerously easy to finish Polotmavy... Oakes (17684) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 19, 2001
Like a strong Vienna - various amber malts, toasty flavours, crackerlike finish.
