A hazy orange beer with a small orange head. The aroma is very yeasty - as if it hasn’t finished fermenting, combined with notes of brewmash. The flavor is quite hoppy with a touch of alfa acid and oranges, leading to a dry slightly metallic end. There is no congruence between the aroma and the flavor. omhper (25113) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 4, 2002
Amber coloured. Dry but rather malty with some flowery grape aroma. 6% ABV. mcberko (17823) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 11, 2012
On tap at L’Amère à Boire, pours a clear amber with a large beige head. Aroma of dry caramel bready malt and some mild floral notes. Flavour of dry berries, dry caramel malts and some bready notes. Nice balance, dry mouthfeel. Decent but boring. Oakes (17668) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 3, 2003
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2005 re-rate: Hazy copper colour. Caramelly, slightly spicy aroma. Toasty malt flavours with hints of ginger, coriander and dusty yeastiness.

Bright copper; aroma is faint, with vanilla, caramel and pear. Candyish sweetness. Touches of vanilla, wood...so sweet, though. 7 3 7 3 13 = 3.3
On tap @ L’Amere A Boire. Clear orange/amber pour with white foam. Garbage malty IPA. A lot of caramel, grass, and pine. Slight orange rind, I suppose. Tastes like candied apples and caramel sauce. Bitter grass, pine, and citrus rind. A lot of toasted bread and malts. A little too malty and sweet. And by a little, I mean completely.

Draught, 5.6% at the brewpub. Good grassy hop aroma. Hazy grey copper colour. Very small tan head. Good grassy hop flavour, not sweet or caramelly. OK cleansing bitterness, not quite clean, though. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - SEP 30, 2003
Clear amber with beige head. Aroma is spicy, pineapple, grapefruit. Taste is the same in addition to herbal. Medium body. Lubiere (13905) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 20, 2004
Deep gold /light brown beer with a sweet vinous aroma. Nice nuttyness with slightly caramelized malts, Again, the hops are not complex very sharp. Medium body. I would say this is more of an old ale than a Biere de garde. Bov (12636) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUN 20, 2012
