A beautiful rich malt accented bock. Amber in colour with a light carbonation. Sweet from the malt but balanced and a lingering malt finish. A very good interpretation.

On tap at L’Amère à Boire. Aroma of sweet grains, with no pullback, lots of sugar oozing through. Has a little bit of foam head and a ruby brown body. Flavour is sweet molasses and chocolate icing. Dry finish. It’s not bad but missing detail.

On tap at L’Amere a Broise. Pours a dark Amber with thin head. Nutty and malty flavor. One of their better beers I thought. Drinks pretty easy.

Draught - April 23, 2009 - at LAmère à Boire. Clear light copper pour with a solid beige pancake batter-looking head. Floral / sweet caramel aroma; dry, some alcohol. Really interesting and somewhat unexpected taste - floral bitterness and some generic sweet grain, but quite a presence of acidic tartness, like unsweetened blackberry ("tastes like a tart! -that’s what she said!") some alcohol, but I didn’t get 6.8%. Light-bodied, sticky, mildly carbonated - not overwhelming, but refreshing and in retrospect surprisingly hoppy and dry.

On tap at L’Amere a Boire. Pours an orange, almost crimson amber with a small white head. Dried stone fruit, plums, malt, and candy on the nose. Medium bodied, with a nice malty sweetness, and a bit of dark fruit. Ends dry with a touch of alcohol. Seems a bit stronger than the 6.4% it’s listed as on the menu.

Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAR 26, 2009
Tap at the brewpub. Pours a nice amber with a good rich thick hea dand great lace. Aroam is sweet bready lightly toasted muncih malts, nutty, and good full caramel touch with a light nice herbal hop. Flavor is a bit green with lots of german hops, but also some light acetaldehyde, grainy, nice bready malts, and DMS with a clean finish.

[1452-20080531] Tap. Mild sweet boozy sugared malt aroma. Slightly hazy, amber orange body with quick foamy white bubbles. Lots of grainy malt flavour with boozy caramel hints. Medium body is boozy. Fair.

A golden amber lager with a thin white head. Very grainy malt aroma, fruity esters, lightly spiced, notes of cinnamon. In mouth, sweet caramel malt, with rye notes, fruity notes, rich bodied. On tap at brewpub, May 2008.

robinvboyer (4666) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 1, 2008
sweet earthy malt nose. Sweet flavour, its and off beer. im getting some fruit like cherries, and dates in the finish, but the malt is lingering, quite complex for the style, a decent brew.
