DerWeg (1704) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 13, 2010
Looks darker than expected, get a whiff of unusual toffee. Nice balance in aroma and taste, a bit creamy and spicy with some nice pale fruit.

Draught at pub. Ar: fresh toasted bread and a little dark caramel; very clean. Ap: amber and clear; small light tan head, low retention; recedes into a fine ring and a wisp of cover. T: toast and sticky medium caramels; a bit of biscuit and corn; medium bitterness, somewhat herbal; tannins; medium-low sweetness; finish is caramel roast. P: mediumbidy with medium carbonation; dry finish. O: a Dark lager with clean fermentation characteristics; caramel is a bit heavy, sort of sharp.

On tap at L’Amere a Boire. Pours a clear orange amber, with almost crimson highlights and a medium white head. Sweet, with a lot of toasted malt on the nose. Light sweetness in the body before moving to a light grainy bitter.

blankboy (7808) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 18, 2010
Draught at L’Amère à Boire. Pours a clear amber with a small diminishing creamy off-white head and good lacing on the glass. Mild aroma, a bit sweet, biscuity and lightly hoppy. Flavour of caramel malt, grain, wheat and German hops. Medium bodied. Pretty good.

Lubiere (14151) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 9, 2005
reddish amber ale with a thin white head. Fresh sweetish malt aroma with fruity esters. Good crisp malt base with rye whiskey malt notes, and peppery hops. Lighter bodied.

garthicus (2945) - Dublin, IRELAND - APR 23, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Appearance: a little hazy brown with a small off white head. Aroma: nutty with apples and quite malty too. Flavour: lots of malt, apples again, some bread notes with a huge malt finish. Not my cup of tea but well made.

SlovakSniper (5561) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 5, 2012

mcberko (18930) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 11, 2012
On tap at L’Amère à Boire, pours a clear orange amber with a large beige head. Aroma of herbal, spicy hops, bready malts and some fungal notes. Flavour is quite bready, lightly herbally, with some very subtle dry caramel. Very dry mouthfeel, with no harsh edges - solid, but bland.
