3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
No head and almost no carbonation. Clear copper body. Has a mixed berry aroma with grapes. Sweet flavor, like a gingerbread cookie without the bite and drizzled with caramel. I get the juniper at times too. A bit thin, with occasional alcoholic overtones. Intriguing, but not quite there. Though I’m typically a little sensitive to carbonation, this beer could have used a bit. Overall I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt that it’s perhaps been sitting around too long.
I am completely unfamiliar with the style "Sahti". Upon first glance, I am unimpressed. Absolutely no tight bubbles--it pours like flat apple cider. In fact, it has the color of apple cider and is very cloudy.
Extremely sweet smell, almost like brandy-soaked sweet cherries or a kriek.
The flavor is coyingly sweet. The aftertaste adds some interest with a slight souring. Full bodied with nearly no carbonation.
This is not something I would seek out again. I think I’ll have trouble finishing this one. bbbeer (877) - Massachusetts, USA - JAN 1, 2014
Cloudy brown red with particulate matter and no head. Aroma caramel and tart apple. Completely flat with medium-light body. I thought maybe a bad bottle but this seems to match other reviews. The flavor itself is not awful, kind of tart apple/pear like the aroma but there is a weird oily texture and even the slightest amount of carbonation would have been helpful. Nice cider/ruby color; Light to medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, dark fruit, & some spice; Flavor of sweet malt, caramel, junipers, and dark fruit (notably plums & dates); Overall, a little flat but not too bad. 11.2 oz bottle at home. Pours particulate amber to brown with no head. Aroma is tart stone fruit, caramel and cookie malt, balsamic vinegar, plums, prunes, and figs. Flavor is lightly tart stone fruit, faint juniper notes, caramel and cookie malt, no hops, and a sweet, somewhat unfermented finish. Medium body and light carbonation. Bottle as Kataja Olut shared at Beers of the World. Aroma of sugars, butter, and belgian chocolate. Pours light bronze with no head. Taste is sweet with honey notes, red apple peel and malts. Very flat and sweet. Not good in large quantity but tasty.

Cloudy tea brown, essentially no head.
Scent is malty, caramel, juniper.
Taste is sweet, prune, caramel, bread.
Probably better if a little more lively bodied.... laiti (8513) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 20, 2013

Aroma is somewhat sweet and malty with juniper, berries and some vegetables. Flavour is malty with caramel, some juniper, metal, berries and vegetable notes. Too messy.
From a bottle enjoyed in Avon NC. Pours an opaque reddish amber with a feint, almost non existent, head. Interesting aroma evokes grape koolaid. Flavor is a different story entirely. First a sour and funky, almost lambic like, taste washes through, followed by the juniper notes with some hints of white pepper. Short tart finish. Definitely unique, not closely similar to anything I have had before. Probably an acquired taste -- much like Belgian sour beers. However, rather than growing on me, the more I drank of it the less I liked it. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - DEC 31, 2012
Bottle. Stale male and prune aroma. Copper with no head. Sweet horrid malt. Flat body.
