Pours a dark murky copper with a very thin tan head that does leave some lacing. The aroma is basically undetectable. The taste unfortunately isn’t much better. There seems to be at least one too many malts. Not well balanced and it leaves kind of a funky bitterness at the very end that isn’t all that desirable. I wish I had better things to say but this one disappoints.

Beer of the month, pours rusty to orange with a nice head, aroma of marmalade, vanilla, milk, barley, flavor of strawberries, orange, bitter notes and marmalade, medium bodied

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2012 This was apart of a case I bought while on a trip to Pittsburgh. O PA beer laws. Poured a cloudy orange, nice head. Smell was mostly bitter grain, some butter sweetness. Taste was pretty mild, not much to it. Overall better then a macrolager, but not clamoring for it again.

Bottle, beer of the month club. Was looking forward to the delivery, having been into anything Penn Dutch for years. Clear dark amber with a little head. Smells of caramel, old grain and wine, tastes unpleasantly bitter. Sticky texture, light body, too long finish. Disappointing.

Light, tastes like Amish water, a religious community beer with a great beer wrapper...

Bottle. Beer of the month club. Clear amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of light floral hops, some malt and graininess and a hint of butter. Sweetish flavor with some malt, grains and caramel notes, continues mildly bitter with light hoppiness. Medium-bodied. So-so.

Nice looking beer, little aroma, mild flavor. Certainly not bad. I’d definitely have another.
