From old tasting notes. Deep dark brown color topped by a small tan head. Faint roasted coffee malt aroma. Sweet roasted malt flavor hints at chocolate and coffee. radagast83 (8191) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - MAR 3, 2013

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2013 Draft at the brewpub in Lancaster. Served in a English pint glass, dark brown color with some ruby hue on the sides. Small beige head. Aroma of oatmeal, roasted malt, smoke and a little coffee and chocolate. Taste was more hoppy then expected, adds some licorice flavor. Body was somewhat thinner then expected, ends sweet and creamy. Sessionable, decent porter.

This is a very solid porter, poured dark brown with rich malty flavors throughout the beer, hoppiness that just compliments the maltiness. This is a great baltic porter. PapaSkeetSkeet (1010) - Providence, Rhode Island, USA - JAN 7, 2011
Dark brown with glints of deep amber- slightly lighter than a typical porter. Flavor is a good mesh of resiny hop bitterness and a moderate dark roast which did not give impressions of coffee, chocolate, or nut. Less sweet than other BP’s as well. Nonetheless, a decent porter, but not living up to the standards of a Baltic export. jeremytoni (3082) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - JAN 1, 2011
From the tap poured a black color with a good amount of head. Nice malty flavor with a quick finish. bubbleflubber (2231) - Swannanoa, North Carolina, USA - DEC 28, 2010
On draught at the brewer. Deep ruby pour with a thin lasting white ring.... same with lace. Deep malts and some roasted hues. The flavors are similar, malty, vinous and roasted. The finish is a toasted cherry hop... interesting. Smooth pull here, with a smooth mouthfeel and round body. ABV is integrated superbly. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 20, 2009
Sampler, at Lancaster location. Pours a cola brown body with a small beige head that retained as a thin ring. The nose is cocoa and light dry dusty roasted malt. A little bit of licorice and coffee as well. Pretty bitter for a Baltic Porter, and there’s quite a heavy roast flavor for such a light colored beer. Lots of dry roasted grain with coffee and very dark bitter molassas. A little lighter bodied with a dry finish and a slightly husky grainy courseness. Overall, this was a fairly decent drink, but it didn’t really jive too well with the style for me. It lacked the smoothness most notably that I expect from a Lager.
