Originally brewed by Thwaites, the brand was contract brewed at Marston’s Wolverhampton plant (Banks’s) from 2013, then bought completely by Marston in March 2015. The brand initially continued to be sold under the Thwaites name and logo, but by 2016 the Thwaites name had been dropped.
"This rich amber beer is brewed with only the finest English ingredients. A prominent hop aroma and bitterness throughout is finely balanced with a full malt flavour, leading to a dry bitter finish."

Kauge (1984) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 14, 2014
Bottle from a Selver in Tallinn, Sept 2014. Pours a dark, near clear copper with a big creamy head that retains and laces well. Aroma is good grassy, earthy, woody hops, sweet caramel, and near-putrid autumn fruits. Sweet malty and dried apple taste that builds up to grassy bitter with some nice toffee and biscuit notes. Lingering, slightly spicy, dry and metallic bitterness in the finish. Medium body, near average carbonation, palate on the dry side. Quite nice!

MissPxx (991) - Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 13, 2014
Caramel aroma. Dark amber appearance. Quite clear but with a subtle tinge. Bitter flavour but a smooth palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
