This is a great stout! Lovely motor oil like color. Nice foamy head at first but didn’t last as long as I would have liked. Smells of roast coffee and sweet barley and malt. The taste is smooth and sweet with a slightly bitter coffee finish. I buy this often. Wonderful stout experience! Reminds me of an awesome cup of black coffee but in beer form.

Chocolate with a mild coffee bitter. Coffee hangs on the palate nicely. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Bottle) Pours a very dark brown with minimal head which disappears. Minimal aroma. Faint malt sweetness. The flavor is roasted malt without the sweetness or silky palate I would have expected. I suspect this bottle may have gotten stale at the retailer. No date stamp to determine when bottled.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a black color with a brief tan head. Sugary-sweet aroma with a roasted, coffee background. Medium-full body, taste is predominantly coffee with a touch of sweetness. Finish is a little dry with some of that coffee bitterness attached. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at brewery. Pours black with a tan head. Roasted malt aroma with cocoa and coffee. Flavor is roasted malt with caramel notes, black coffee, and chocolate followed by lactose sweetness and a earthy hop finish. Had this one multiple times over the years. This brew is a true classic.

Black pour with a thin creamy khaki head and lots of creamy striped lacing .... Aroma of powdered cocoa, milk chocolate, light lactose and roasted coffee .... Taste is of milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted coffee, light lactose sugar and roasted malts .... Sugar isn’t overbearing just right with a dry bitter roasted finish ..... Finish is of lactose sugar, cocoa, coffee and roasted malts .... Solid and easy drinking balanced brew

12 oz bottle recieved from friend. Poured into pint glass. Dense two finger tan head hangs around a while. Beer is very dark brown. Aroma is mostly weak and bland. Taste is medium sweet with a light bitterness. Notes of vanilla, chocolate and nuts. Medium bodied beer. Average carbonation. Overall an ok milk stout, nothing special.

355ml bottle from The Perfect Pour. Pours black with a thick brown head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is primarily roasted malt, a little coffee. Flavor is much more coffee, some chocolate develops more slowly, mildly sweet and not really bitter at all. Very smooth but a little thin.

Oakes (18472) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 14, 2016
Medium brown, nitro head. Has a massive vanilla nose and taste. Not balanced and out of style. Garbage example, nothing but fake vanilla. Not what the style is.

Jet black pour with minimal head and lacing. The aromas include chocolate, roasted malt and black licorice. Initially the flavors show a nice, almost burnt roasted malt and milk chocolate. Nice creamy mouth feel, a little sticky and slick especially for a 5.3% ABV beer. Smooth, dry bitter finish. Top notch regular milk stout

12oz bottle. Starts with a mild bite with a little carbonation. Immediately followed by a tootsie roll taste. Smooth on the palate with a chocolate milk finish.
