Medium brown, nitro head. Has a massive vanilla nose and taste. Not balanced and out of style. Garbage example, nothing but fake vanilla. Not what the style is.

A: The pour is a dark, dark brown color with a thin layer of tan foam. S: The nose is not very pleasing at all. There is some roasted malt, hints of chocolate, and a slight sweetness. However, there is also something a bit "off" about the aroma that I cant quite pin point (maybe a touch sour?). T: The flavor is a slight improvement over the nose with some decent roasted malt and cream flavors with a touch of sweetness. I cant say that its especially good though. M: The body and carbonation are about standard, with the body being a touch thin. D: The pedestrian flavors and rather unpleasant nose really put me off of this beer. I think I would pass on this one if offered it again.

Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Dark brown/black pour with an ephemeral tan head. Aroma is mostly coffee. Maybe a little nutty. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is smooth burnt toast, hints of fruit, and coffee. Finish is relatively dry and coffee. Not getting much in the way of chocolate. However, I am enjoying it.

Thick tan head atop a nice black body. Aroma is sweet, mocha, some nutty, light vanilla. Taste is mild up top, before strong roasty coffee hits midbody. Medium body lacks the creaminess the name suggests.

DSG (13780) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - AUG 11, 2010
UPDATED: AUG 13, 2010 Bottle. Beer of the Month club. Black-colored with only a tiny bit of brown foam. Aroma of milk-chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt and a bit of sugariness. Sweet flavor with milk-chocolate, roasted grains, a bit of nuts, sour notes and light fruitiness. Finishes roasty, drier and slightly herbal. Medium-bodied. Pretty good.
