12 oz. Bottle: Aroma of malts, sourdough, nuts, grain, and a tiny bit of spice. Poured copper in color with a med-sized, fizzy, off-white head that diminished. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is neither sweet nor bitter. Tastes very malty with notes of sourdough, noble hops, nuts and salt. Light to medium body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Malty, salty finish. Kind of a weak Oktoberfest, especially in the body. MrTipple (4782) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 12, 2014
Aroma: grain and bread malts. Appearance: dark, clear gold, medium, creamy, beige head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: intense caramel, light bitters coming up Overall: OK Maerzen. Pint at Big Brew, Morristown. DiarmaidBHK (4777) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 12, 2012
Draft at Lancaster Harrisburg. Pours light brown with a thin khaki head. Slight malt notes on the nose. I got a slight steel quality mixing with the malt. Clean finisher. Eh! nickd717 (4642) - San Francisco, California, USA - JAN 12, 2011
12oz bottle via trade. Typical appearance for the style, deep copper/amber in color, clear, with a one finger white head that fades to a thick ring. Nice caramel aroma with herbal notes and honey. Very malty without much hop contribution. Somewhat sweet flavor with Munich malt evident. Lots of caramel, black tea, and some Noble hops on the flavor. Decent, but something is slightly off-putting on the finish. Medium body for the style with average carbonation. A fine oktoberfest, but not the first I’d reach for if I had a choice. Pours a translucent golden amber with a smaller bubbly off white head that left hints of lacing. Aroma of sweet grainy maltiness, light spicing, some nuts and hints of caramel. Flavor of Cheerios, pretzels, some malty sweetness, tough of honey, dry, some hop spiciness.

Dark orange-amber body, thin off-white head, spotty lacing. Sweet caramel and bready malts. Faint florals and generic fruitiness. Medium to full bodied, mellow carbonation, sweet, rounded finish. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JUL 31, 2005
Cask at Capital Ale House. Medium to darm amber, lovely tan head with just a sheet of lace. Slightly bitter dirt aroma. Caramel malt, oddly bitter earthen finish, very light floral note as well. Ultimately couldn’t get into the sort of gritty dirt hop flavor this seemed to possess. Interesting htough. alobar (3754) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 24, 2008
Ruby copper color. Aroma of grapefruit and some hops. Taste is citrus, grapefruit and some hops. Crisp, refreshing. Nice beer. beerbill (3616) - Laurel, New York, USA - SEP 4, 2007
On tap at Lancaster Brewing. Arrived at our table a clear red with a thin white ring for a head. Pleasant malty aroma. Flavor was again malt with some light hops bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied. LinusStick (3444) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 30, 2007
Blah. A subpar Oktoberfest. I call it that because I live in PA and have a bias. Aroma was nil. Pour was a too light gold with a thin white ring for a head. Taste was like a vienna except not much malt. Not much anything for that matter.
