Here’s the latest buzz.... Our new Rumspringa Golden Ale. Big, smoothly malted, flawlessly hopped and spiked with real Lancaster County honey for that extra sting.

Can, bought from the brewery. Hazy golden color, small white head. Fruity flavor, very malty. Clean finish. Decent.

Pours golden amber with light head. Sweet malts with honey and molasses flavors. Light citrus. Hops barely noticeable. Respectable beer.

12oz can. Pours a deep golden orange color, with a dense white head that recedes quickly. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, honey and bread. Flavor is caramel, bready malts, honey and a kiss of earthy hops. Not overly sweet, and well balanced, little to no alcohol presence. Medium bodied, creamy, carbonation is moderate.

On tap 5 oz. sample at Whole Foods in Vienna, VA. Clear, bright caramel color with a light khaki head and very good lacing. Aroma of caramel honey and mild citrus. Taste of honey, caramel and light fruit. Medium body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Location: 12 oz can from Buy Rite, 5/26/13

Aroma: The nose is sweet and malty, grainy and bready, a bit of fruit, and some grassy notes
Appearance: Pours a clear golden color with a small white head that leaves almost no lace
Flavor: The taste is grainy and malty, a bit sweet, and with a light grassy hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, though it feels fuller in this style, with a fizzy carbonation
Overall Impression: Decent stuff. I didn’t love this one, but it is another solid canned beer that I could see working well in the correct circumstances for sure.

12oz can. Crystal clear apple juice body topped by small off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, bread, some hay, light honey. Taste is moderately sweet, bread, honey, some straw/grass, light alcohol. Light-medium body, light effervescence.

BREWMUSKCLES (2759) - New Jersey, USA - APR 28, 2013
nice can of beer with a real bock malt style character. interesting golden color and the honey comes thru in a good way with the citrus and pine hops. the mix a little caustic in the mouthfeel but full enough without being over the top, traditional enough and twisted good.

Can. Much like a full flavored domestic macro with some sweetness from the honey, which is a nice touch but can't save it. Another disappointment from Lancaster.

jgb9348 (6581) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - APR 15, 2013
Clear golden coloured body with a bit of a peach glow and a thinnish, one centimetre tall white head. Aroma of pale malt, lemons, metal and a hint of light grassiness. Medium-bodied; Assertive alcohol flavour with a pungent bite of earth, apricots and a lot of metallic notes with an offputting alcohol warmth. Aftertaste shows a bit too much body for the style and for any lighter beer, a lot of deep robust flavours that aren’t good (metal, alcohol, etc) and a deep finish. Overall, not such a great beer - and easily worth passing over - too strong and pungent for the style and in general. I sampled this 12 ounce can purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 02-April-2013 for US$1.49 sampled at home in Washington on 15-April-2013.
