A hazy orange beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet with very strong notes of strawberries - I’m not that fond of strawberries in anything than lambic. The flavor is sweet, but quite light, the strongest note being of strawberries with light notes of malt and even lighter notes of wheat. There’s no flaws, but it is just not me.

Bottle. Dark pink, scant head. Aroma of candy. Taste starts sweet, watery, then bitter. Too sweet, over-hopped, unbalanced.

Bottled. Cloudy reddish brown, minimal head. Light strawberry aroma. Sweet and soft, huge on toffee with strawberry fudge accompanying it. Most fruit wheats are sticky sweet, this is balanced. There are some grassy hops alongside all the toffee in the finish.

A: The pour is a light amber color with a thin ring of white foam. S: What an unappealing nose. Pure sugary sweetness without any discernible strawberry aromas, nor much in the way of wheat. T: I was not expecting much, given the aromas, but the flavor of this beer is fairly good. A lot of sweet strawberries with a mild tartness on the finish. M: This one is light in body with a low-to-moderate carbonation. D: I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor of this beer, but it is on the sweet side. I couldn’t drink much more than a few ounces of this beer, but it’s not bad.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2010 Bottle. Beer of the Month club. Clear deep golden with a medium white head. Sweet aroma of strawberry-flavored tooth paste. Sweet fruity flavor with some bread, wheat, light spiciness and a bit of artificial strawberry candies. Finishes grainy. Light-medium body. Strong carbonation. Aroma is a bit disgusting, but the flavor isn’t as bad.

An amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, loads of butterscotch and berries, cloying. In mouth, a synthetic strawberry, filthy, oily butterscotch, very bad. On tap at Harrisburg location, April 10th, 2011.

argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 27, 2004
