Our classic Olde Ale redefines the term "bull-bodied" with its deliverance of complex and firm malt flavor. A fine blend of British and American hops provides an even bitterness as this beer finishes with a warming alcohol flavor.

Kuzo (116) - Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 29, 2011
Pours a chestnut brown with full tan head. Smells of fig and molasses and a bit metallic. Molasses flavor with sweet malts and raisin. Somewhat boozy and some slight hop bitterness. A lighter heavy body and sticky mouthfeel but surprisingly quite drinkable. Its a good beer but not really my preferred style.

abdiorio (43) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 31, 2017
Smells of spice and wood with a murky Amber coloring. Initial taste is wheat with aftertaste of spices (nutmeg cinnamon). Nice winter treat!

Bottle. Opaque brown color with light tan head and lacing. Nose of bready malt with raisin notes. Bready with fruit notes (raisins) and some alcohol in the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a reddish hue. Large khaki head. Aromas of leather, nuts, and chocolate. Flavor is woody, a little bitter, dark chocolate, other heavy malts, roasty and earthy notes, dark berries. Medium to heavy body. Little carbonation. A little spice and a little smoke. Warming alcohol finish.

jsmerig (1677) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 21, 2016
Pours a dark cloudy caramel with a white head that shows good lacing in the glass. Aroma of sweet malts and maple syrup slightly smoked. Sweet upfront with an earthy bitterness to offset slightly. Full creamy mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled with Brendan. Pours a deep brown body with light lacing. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with notes of maple, molasses and honey. Some round malt as well.

joejames (510) - Jacobus, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 12, 2015
Bottle to shaker glass pours deep, clear ruby red. Two finger light tan head, scant lacing with a slight cap of retention. Aroma of roasted barley and caramel. Taste is big and malty sweet but with enough hops to balance the big malt bill. Full bodied, medium carbonation, sticky mouth feel. Finishes sweet. Tasting notes of toffee, dark cherry, anise, pecan, molasses, raisin with a hint of alcohol. A very decent ale, complex and drinkable.

Thanks James. Ruby red with sizable head. Very malty with lots of maple syrup and toasty waffles. Woody. Honestly liked it.

From NOTES. A: Roasted malt, caramel sweetness, mild booze, slight hop presence yet smells really boozy. A: Pours a reddish dark brown with a very nice light brown head. T: Warm and sweet, not spectacularly so, but a little bit of the same molasses and raisin taste. Not too strong, but also not enough to be particularly memorable. P; Full bodied and very smooth with little carbonation. O: This is a pretty decent beer, but not great. Some good malt flavors, but a little too much licorice for my liking.

I just missed it this year for their Christmas in July promotion but I remember it very well. It is one of my favorite beers. Warning find a safe place to drink this beer because it will sneak up on you.

LetsGoState (910) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 31, 2015
Appearance is small white head with deep brown color. Aroma is a bit sweet. Taste is sweet malts with a kick of alcohol. Overall not the best, not the worst.
