Bottle, bought at the brewery, just named "dunkel". ABV is the same. malt and milk chocolate in the aroma. Thinnish but flavorful. Malt, cake dough, roasted malt, milk chocolate. More body and this dunkel would be world class. Now it is just a good beer. Ernest (7695) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 6, 2005
Germany, Nov 2003.
Head is initially small, fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is light brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, coffee), lightly hoppy (herbs).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Drinkable, but not really impressive. Aldrighetti (163) - Coltura, ITALY - NOV 24, 2004
Bottle. Brown colour with orange shine, yellowish head, clear body. Coffee-chocolate aroma, light caramel aroma. Taste is roasted, chocolate cookies, moderate roasted bitterness . Dry palate, medium to light body, easy to drink. Aromatic malty finish. pivo (2685) - GERMANY - NOV 7, 2004
Not sure what makes this a Landbier, but it is a good dunkles. Toast in the nose, clear brown color, and a sticky foamy head. A little caramell in the flavor with a light roasted almost smoke finihs. Clean palate after the swallow and a good balance. hotstuff (5158) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 29, 2004
Bottle. Tan head, uncarbonated, fair lacing, transparent and a reddish brown hue. Aroma was malty and caramel as was the flavor. Smooth mouthfeel. Good Dunkel!

Medium frothy head, nice brown amber color. Light malty nose. Nice roasted taste. Well balanced. thedm (6180) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 11, 2004
The DM & Hotstuff’s European Honeymoon trip beer number 69. This draft brew from the brewery in Germany poured a medium sized foamy head of finely sized off-white colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a carbonated transparent dark brown colored body. The aroma contained notes of very mild malts. The mouth feel was smooth thick and malty with a mild tingle in the finish. The flavor contained good notes of sweet semi-thick good malts and had a mild kick to it. shrubber85 (11402) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JUN 28, 2004
Nice chocolate malty aroma and dark color. Flavor matches aroma - a good thick chocolate malt flavor with a balanced hops flavor. A very good dark beer. jonas (7573) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - JUN 2, 2004
Chokolate chip cookie malt spiced with bittering hops.
Amber brown, low brown creamy lacing head. Sweet base with
milkchokolate notes and a bitterhop finish.Medium body, a tad watery toward the end.
slightly sugary aftertaste. OlJuntan64 (1265) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUN 6, 2002
Dark coke colour with not even a hint of a head. Hoppy mown grass aromas.
Faint slightly sour start and stronger sweet-bitter hoppy middle flavours. Body much lighter than that indicated by the colour. It came highly recommended but seemed lacking in any kind of oomph! Medium bitter dry finish. (Rated 15/5/02:Feucht Bier Garten, Germany)
