Nice chocolate malty aroma and dark color. Flavor matches aroma - a good thick chocolate malt flavor with a balanced hops flavor. A very good dark beer. Hazmatt (363) - Virginia, USA - OCT 15, 2007
Bottle. Dark brown color, tan head. Aroma isn’t jumping out at me, toasty caramel malt aroma and flavor. Soft and clean for a dunkel. Possible slight oxidation. ghawener (1604) - Santa Tecla, EL SALVADOR - APR 3, 2015
Bottle: Drank the LANDWEHR-BRÄU Altfränkisch Dunkel in Rotheburg, caramel malt with hints of smoke, very good. Food Pairing: Sweet BBQ sauce. Roublard (218) - Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC - AUG 3, 2015
Tapped. Appears ruby-brown sunny and light brown body with stable head. Aroma contains some caramel, coffee and chocolate notes. Although the taste is quite clear, refreshing, rather medium with some roasted beans. thedm (6142) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 11, 2004
The DM & Hotstuff’s European Honeymoon trip beer number 69. This draft brew from the brewery in Germany poured a medium sized foamy head of finely sized off-white colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a carbonated transparent dark brown colored body. The aroma contained notes of very mild malts. The mouth feel was smooth thick and malty with a mild tingle in the finish. The flavor contained good notes of sweet semi-thick good malts and had a mild kick to it.

Bottle. Tan head, uncarbonated, fair lacing, transparent and a reddish brown hue. Aroma was malty and caramel as was the flavor. Smooth mouthfeel. Good Dunkel! Mampers99 (2) - GERMANY - JAN 11, 2003 does not count

Bottle, bought at the brewery, just named "dunkel". ABV is the same. malt and milk chocolate in the aroma. Thinnish but flavorful. Malt, cake dough, roasted malt, milk chocolate. More body and this dunkel would be world class. Now it is just a good beer. YogiBeera (2569) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 16, 2004
Medium frothy head, nice brown amber color. Light malty nose. Nice roasted taste. Well balanced. pivo (2685) - GERMANY - NOV 7, 2004
Not sure what makes this a Landbier, but it is a good dunkles. Toast in the nose, clear brown color, and a sticky foamy head. A little caramell in the flavor with a light roasted almost smoke finihs. Clean palate after the swallow and a good balance.
