"Pours from the growler a dark chestnut brown...one of the darker barleywines around. little to no head. huge sweet aroma of dark fruits, carmel, vanilla, bourbon. Body is nice...slick, sweet, low on carbonation because the growler had been open, but it works well for this deeeelicious sipper. Drinks like a fine spirit, with little heat. Complex, sweet-leaning barleywine, always with a raisin undertone, and obvious but not overpowering barrel influence. Would LOVE to try the base. Far and away the best I’ve had out of Susanville!"

On draft at the SF beer week opening celebration. It pours a brown color with a small orange head. The aroma is full of bourbon, vanilla, dark fruity raisins, and alcohol. The flavor is fruity with plums, dates, raisins, big bourbon, cocoa, and some alcohol heat. Very bright barley wine dark fruitiness with nicely balanced bourbon barrel notes. A very pleasant surprise from a new local brewer!
