Certainly tasty though I have to say I’ve had more pronounced coffee notes in beers with no coffee added. Very low sweetness, which is nice.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast coffee, dark chocolate, cracker. Thick mouth, chewy, roast, dark chocolate, lingering bitter dry finish, very good.

degbert (1776) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 10, 2016
Bottle. Pours jet black with a high, mixed-grained, solid, lacy, medium brown head. Nose is coffee, chocolate, earth, a touch of animal funk, nutmeg, and instant coffee powder. Quite dry on the tongue; this is not an imperial porter, or a mochafrappelatte porter. It’s porter and coffee, dammit, and that’s all it is, and you’ll like it and drink it black and quit your belly-aching. Good thing I like it; it’s clean, it’s simple, and it’s quite well made. Finish is long, dry, and smooth; no acid bite. Good.

(En fût au Whip In): Un pain grillé juste à point comme support à une tartinade chocolatée, amisée figée par une mélasse pale. Buvabilité vertigineuse.

Pours black and oily with a foamy head that vanishes completely.aroma is mild coffee. Flavor is roast malt with coffee and a bit of milk. Very mild and drinkable for beer fans who are not coffee drinkers.

Draft at Craft Pride, Austin. Almost black color, full slow dying tan head. Aroma is a steady amount of coffee bean with light chocolate hints, mild toffee tone.

The flavor begins coffee upfront, chocolate notes and again toffee or caramel hints. Body is pretty good for a porter. The coffee is not over played, integrated rather well into the base. I love coffee brews and even on a warm Texas evening I really enjoy sipping this.
