COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A straight up American Brown Ale spiced with German and Canadian rye. The color is a rich medium brown with a creamy golden head and plenty of sweet, fruity malt notes in the nose. The flavors include malted sugars, candied fruits and pumpernickel bread balanced with an abrupt citrus and herbal hop character at the finish.

I had this on tap at the brewery in Vista. I thought that it was a well-crafted, straight-forward brown ate.

Sampled at the brewery on 3/21/2013. This brown ale pours a medium to light brown color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet with a touch of spiciness. A medium bodied brown ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, slightly nutty. The hops are earthy, floral and citrusy. Decent carbonation. A touch sweet. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

"An ok brown with a cool twist. Unfortunately it was muddled just enough to prevent it from being better than the average american brown out there on the market..."

Bottle from Best Damn Beer Store. Pours coca-cola brown with an inch of khaki foam. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Not much on the nose. Rye is faint. I do get a bit of caramel malt. Finishes Clean. Underwhelmed.

Label is a bit goofy but the beer inside is pretty good. Pours a dark cola brown. Big foamy head. Has a little nuttiness some mineral qualities and a tiny dab of chocolate to it.
