ganache (6066) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 12, 2016
Can from VE. A little gushy, light brown collecting a little darkness and tawny highlights in the glass, way too much carbonation and a huge foamy tan head. Nose very sweet with light red berry, strong nuts, some scorch/burn and medium roast, has a nice gentleness at this distance. In the mouth, medium-sweet with wonderful brown malt notes, huge red berry (the nuts and roast are backed off, with just a hunt of coffee in the aftertaste). Somewhat foamy/airy but not too strongly, otherwise a creamy light-medium body that feels right and just a hint of tartness every ten sips or so. Hops are downplayed but round cleanly at the back. Fresh, clean fun. [2016.09.12: 3.5]

mmmbeer (1429) - Austin, Texas, USA - DEC 30, 2015
12 oz. can sampled on Christmas, served in a shaker- poured a transparent brown, lively light carbonation, thick 2 finger head foamy off white head formed, some spotty lacing upon the vessel. Aroma of molasses, nuts, toffee, and a strong malt. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt is not overly sweet, middle has some molasses sensation with some grit (I like it like that), finish is lightly sweet with some walnuts. Alright, alright, alright.

Tap at Irreale. Hazy grey dark Amber, golden cream. light lactic, sourmash on top of roast, boiled rice, a hint herbal hops. Medium light sparkly body. dry farty finish. suffered in transport?

Lightly nutty, molasses, brown bread, cocoa, light bodied, pretty nuanced and tasty for a brown, not usually a big fan of the style.

Dogbrick (13986) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 8, 2015
Sample at Daily Growler Powell. Clear brown color with a medium khaki head that recedes quickly to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing. Roast malt, nuts and caramel in the nose. Light body with a roasty nutty and malty flavor, with slight hops in the background. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

cheap (6128) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 6, 2015
From a can a real big head that goes rocky and never fades, yes a real, real big head; 6 inches. Dark iced tea look. Quite malty in the smell. the maltiness carries over to the flavors. Some alky bite but it remains fairly well behaved thru the session.

b3shine (9200) - Indiana, USA - AUG 13, 2015
Draft to taster at the brewpub. Looks solid; a completely transparent light brownish gold with off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells malty and mildly toasty with a touch of chocolate. Tastes like it smells with a medium-light to medium-bodied mouthfeel. Not bad.

milewide (2326) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - AUG 12, 2015
Nice brown ale, and less sweet than I expected with "molasses". Rich light brown color, and modest head.

Pour on tap at Beer Grotto, dark reddish brown pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, toast, some grain, bread, hints of cocoa, nuts. Taste was a mix of grass, bread, toast, toffee, nutty notes into some earth, finishing slightly sweet.
